The most far-reaching result of this election, aside from the public-sector unions being told what the people in Wisconsin thnk of them, is that other governors in other states who want to similarly put the unions in their place will now know that they CAN do it; and that all the massive media coverage plastering quick and painful defeats for the conservatives all over the airwaves, is just so much hot air they won't need to worry about.
Basically, now we have seen that the public-sector unions and their friends in the media, are on the opposite side from the normal citizens of the state, even if the media tries to tell us otherwise.
Spot On. The government workers became for a while the public masters, and in the decades to come, they will go back to their proper role of public servents.
Yes...isn't it hysterical watching the losing side come up with all the excuses for the most humiliating defeat (in a long, long line of WI defeats).....evah!
The meme/narrative from the Left/media is all that dirty money bought the election for Walker.
Only the right has the dirty money? How about the 10's of millions the Unions took from the members fund and dumped into the recall. The union members really should recall their leadership after this. Funny to listen to a Dem last night admit that the recall was foolish. I agree it is interesting to listen to the spin now and how difficult it is for the left to give the people any credit at all for being able to think outside CNN, MSNBC and ABC talking points. LOL Good day for America it is.
The winners of the night were the RCP average and Marquette University polling--not we speak America or internal polling by the dems. The RCP average came out at +6.7, Marquette came out at +7, and Walker won by +6.9. Experts had been saying all along that if the voter turnout was higher than 2008 Barrett had a chance, but it didn't happen. I thought the D's had at least a 50/50 shot at pulling it off, and making it much closer, because they'd built a good on the ground gotv program, but they didn't. Because recalls like this are so rare, there are lots of variables you don't find in regular campaigns that can throw a monkey wrench into the data. The monkey wrench didn't happen.
LMAO at sobbing Barrett supporter "Mike" on CNN claiming "Democracy is Done."
It doesn't get any better than that.
Lol--I never said PPP was more accurate than We speak america--I asked YOU to explain why YOU thought we speak america had it nailed at +12, since you were ranting about how you were sure it was right. PPP was off by just under 4 points, We Speak America overshot it by 5, and you still don't understand why. If the D's would have pulled off higher voter turnout than in 2008 (it was a possibility) it would have been probably been much closer, and that was what I was factoring in. Barrett was always a long shot, and from the exit polling it sounds like a good chunk of voters were opposed to a recall in principle unless it's used for official misconduct more than any other factor. When and if (and more likely when) Walker is indicted on election fraud, I'll be interested to hear what their response is then.
