Exactly. In 2008 the GOP was running scared...they'd lost the presidency and were bit players in the House and the Senate. I remember pundits musing about the Democrats being in power for the next fifty years. Obama could have done anything he wanted...he had carte blance, the media and the public were ready to follow him anywhere.

IMO he didn't have the faintest freaking idea what to do. The man so believed his own bs I'm convinced he thought the world would suddenly rignt itself just because he'd been voted into office. He even won a Nobel Peace prize! He was special!

And he squandered everything, in fact he made things worse. We got a healthcare bill few people wanted. We got a stimulus that accomplished nothing. People kept losing their jobs and their homes. Even race relations got worse. I wouldn't be surprised to see Obama go down in history as the most ineffectual president ever.

Healthcare bill is a fail I think not ask the 30million new people that will be insured soon when they could not be before that is not a fail. Romney trolls when Obama wins move to Antarctica. More lies from GOP God Offal People. If Healthcare goes to the states cost will go through the roof & no one will be able to afford healthcare that is what will happen under Romney

Now there is a nice question.

tell us who wrote the bills and who signed them into law?

what were the documented causes of the economic meltdown?
Let me give you a hint.
There were 2.
1. The Community Reinvestment Act. written by republicans signed by Bill Clinton (added bad over regulation)
2. Graham-Leach-Blily (sp) voted FOR by 90 senators and 362 members of the House.... signed into law by Bill clinton. (removed good regulation)

When GWB and team went to congress and suggested there were problems caused by these that would lead to serious problems, Barny Frank (D) and Maxine Waters (D) and Lacy Clay (D) are all on record saying NOTHING IS WRONG!

When Obama and his team had a chance to roll back GLB, they didnt. Instead the passed a stupid bill everyone says doesn’t address the structural problems but instead hinders the economy and makes it harder for smaller players to succeed while the huge mega banks (read the bad guys to average 99%ter democrats) are able to continue BAU.

The point here is not that the HC law is a failure. The point here is that BHO focused on this instead of focusing on a floundering economy.

Because he focused on HC and not the economy he made the majority of Americans mad eoungh to turn his party out of the House and to cut deeply into their majority in the Senate. THIS is what gave republicans footing to oppose Obama on any number of fronts.

THAT is the point. Mr. Obama had cart blanch to do whatever he wanted to right America's economic ship in 2009. The efforts he took failed. Then he abandoned all efforts to focus on Obamacare.

THIS is why no one should vote for him. He failed America. He needs to be turned out.

Your assertion that "the healthcare debacle while leaving the economy in shambles" has not been proved -- especially since it doesn't go into effect until 2014! The Health care plan is only unpopular because the GOP keeps advertising it as unpopular. When people learn what it does, they like it.
Health care act: Affordable Care Act is unpopular with many, but many don't know the benefits - Baltimore Sun

Obama didn't have "utter control" of Congress. It wasn't that long ago. I remember the partisan resistance.
There were three at the time. one became a dem. regardless in 2009 republicans didnt have any kind of unity or backing to prevent Obama from getting anything he wanted.

He chose to ignore the economy and to focus on healthcare.

and you failed to understand what I said about his turning to Healthcare. I am not arguing the merits of the HC legislation. I am stating that Obama used his considerable political capital on the HC legislation instead of spending it on the economy. Things that you dems wanted like more spending and rolling back Bush Era Tax Rates on the Wealthy.

my argument is not that the HC bill was a debacle but that focusing on that instead of the economy turned Americans away from BHO in such numbers that it gave the Republicans footing. THAT was the debacle. NO serious political scientist would argue differently. Even if they agree with BHO on HC.

He did ever heard of the Healthcare Bill & Stimulus that was a lot of work to do these 2 things. If you think the economy should be back to Clinton days in 4 years your living in a cave. Obama has done a lot of good thing even though he has had not much help from republicans

again, as we have said now 15 times. HC bill TOOK FOCUS AWAY FROM THE ECONOMY.
THAT is what doomed Mr. Obama. THAT is what led to republicans gaining footing to stand against the Obama agenda.

Republican didnt stand a chance against Obama in 2009. Obama got all he wanted. THEN OBAMA pivoted to HC. HE ABANDONED FOCUS ON THE ECONOMY.

You argue that Romney doesnt have your best interest at heart but Obama AS THE SITTING PRESIDENT turned his focus away from the thing that matters most. THE ECONOMY. AS PRESIDENT. Talk about not having the middle classes best interest at heart.... good grief.

The stock market isnt an indication of the economy. When companies lay people off, their profits go up, and stock values climb.
