No more illegal aliens voting, no more cats and dogs being registered to vote, no more people voting 3 or 4 times in different precincts.
Various states have been passing voter verification laws, where voters need to show ID at the polls. All these states passing such laws allow poor, elderly, and those who cannot afford an ID to get a FREE ID so they can show at the polls. So how is this hindering people from voting?? It doesn't. It just makes sure people don't cast fake votes or fraudulent votes.
But of course, the groups that know massive voter fraud will be committed during the elections, claim “minorities, naturalized citizens, and the elderly don’t have any ID”. REALLY?? They don’t have bank accounts (which require photo ID to open)? They don’t have driver’s licenses, required to operate a motor vehicle?? Don’t naturalized aliens all have N-400 Cards??
So really the argument is bogus. It is designed to cover up the REAL issue: voter fraud. Every year we find hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens voting in this country, diluting the votes of US Citizens. We have people voting using their cat’s name and their dog’s name. We have people voting several times.
Shouldn’t Americans have the RIGHT to have their votes counted and their votes have their worth and not be diluted by fake votes?? So WHY are Democrats opposed to it?? EXACTLY!! They know what time it is with fraudulent votes!
Here is the story:
Supreme Court Will Hear Indiana Voter I.D. Discrimination Case
Tuesday , September 25, 2007
WASHINGTON —
The Supreme Court agreed Tuesday to decide whether voter identification laws unfairly deter the poor and minorities from voting, stepping into a contentious partisan issue in advance of the 2008 elections.
The justices will hear arguments early next year in a challenge to an Indiana law that requires voters to present photo ID before casting their ballots. The state has defended the law as a way to combat voter fraud.
The state Democratic party and civil rights groups complained that the law unfairly targets poor and minority voters, without any evidence that in-person voter fraud exists in Indiana. The party argued that those voters tend to be Democrats.
Courts have upheld voter ID laws in Arizona and Michigan, but struck down Missouri's. Earlier this month, a federal judge dismissed a challenge to Georgia's voter identification law, saying the statute does not impose a significant burden on the right to vote.
The cases are Crawford v. Marion County Election Board, 07-21, and Indiana Democratic Party v. Rokita, 07-25.

I, too, believe it is a sham for illegals to be allowed to vote. It unfairly allows them to elect officials who the average American wouldn't elect.

No... not always... if the Democrats lose votes it'll be because of the aforementioned groups choosing not to vote because of the inconvenience. Massive voter fraud is an evidence-free, anecdote-based boogeyman of the right.

Massive voter fraud is a common practice of the Right. How do you think Bush got elected? On his merits? Really?

Apparently either on his merits or those of Al Gore and/or John Kerry. Really.

Exactly. In CA, WA, and OR, this is a gigantic problem.

Inconvenience to show ID??? How often do you go out w/o ID?? If a cop asks you, is that too "inconvenient"?? How about when you go cash a check and the teller asks for ID - will you not cash the check because showing ID is too inconvenient?? Is it too inconvenient to show ID when you buy booze? You are not getting booze because they ask you for ID?
Come on now. Let's be honest; it IS about voter fraud. Any country in the world requires you to show ID before you cast a balot.

Really? So how come the states who want to BLOCK this legislation are BLUE states?? How come the DEMOCRATS want to keep things open for fraud, by making sure people can vote w/o showing ID??
Think about it. The GOP is pushing for ID at the polls. You say the GOP is cheating. So why would the GOP want to stop voter fraud by showing ID??

Civil liberties is one reason some would object to the legislation.
But then, what are these liberties when they are not upheld.

Because the GOP does their vote fraud by dis-enrolling voters, and/or conducting miscounts. The GOP wishes to keep their method of vote fraud functional.

Sometimes I get so disenchanted with this electoral dance I just want to say screw the Constitution and forget elections. Maybe we should just admit we are former Republic currently run by an unacknowledged and unelected oligarchy. I am certain that all the Republicans and at least one Democrat are false fronts for the real rulers
Too bad, General Washington and the rest of the gang, it was a nice try but the big money, social elites, warmongers and the bible thumpers finally took over. So long as the mob receives its daily ration of bread and entertainment they just do not seem to care. They are only getting what they want and deserve.
I, however, want a free Republic with a real representative government that actually serves the needs of all the people for equality under the law and individual liberty. This seems to be too much to ask.
