I think neither Republicans or Democrats were really to blame for this global recession, which was/is hardly isolated to American shores.

There is strong evidence that this recession was triggered by the peaking of world oil production around 2005 or 2006, concurring with rising demand for oil from Asian nations. This eventually led to unavoidable supply/demand price shocks, the first of which occurred in 2008. The economy could not handle such high energy costs as a percentage of GDP, so jobs were shed rapidly.

Also, those oil price shocks made it impossible to continue with shady (or criminal) financial schemes that had assumed oil would remain cheap enough to maintain a profit margin.

The global transport system also took a big hit, since so much of the modern food supply system assumes cheap oil will be available. Affordable global trade is largely an illusion without cheap liquid energy.

Look up the term "Peak Oil" in association with "recession" and you'll find in-depth articles on the connection between geology, energy and economics. Energy is everything to modern economies that operate on an illusory perpetual growth model. That growth model is essentially insane, since the planet isn't getting any larger. In short, the growth machine has finally hit a wall of cheap energy limits. Fuel prices spike, then sink, every time growth-as-usual tries to resume, but they will tend to keep climbing.

A major reason I won't vote for Romney is that he sides with Republican denial of scientific evidence, and thinks America can defy its 1970 oil production peak with energy-poor kerogen shale and other drilling mandates. Newt Gingrich was especially naive in that regard. At least Obama understands that the oil age is ending and we can't cajole nature into reversing diminishing oil returns.

I think Jimmy Carter would make an ideal President these days, in theory. Carter's 1977 energy-conservation message gets truer every second, and the public would be more receptive to it now. At least those who don't deny what "Peak Oil" actually means. If we'd heeded Carter's plan we'd be in a much better position today, without decades of oil wasted in gas guzzlers and other gluttonous pursuits.

Also we have to get people to go to President Obama’s web site to read the MANY things on the web site that shows what President Obama has done. Also on the web page is a lot of information about what Romney has done at Bain that isn’t being told by the news media that the public need to know before the election. Unfortunately all that President Obama has done for America and why he did what he has done hasn’t been put out to the public enough. So please get as many other people as you can in every way that you can to also read these articles. Use Facebook, e-mails, word of mouth or other ways.We have to do this soon. What I would like is for many of you to join in and let’s put on a campaign to have these articles printed and mailed to every household in every state. Do the closely contested states first. We ALL have to chip in to make sure that President Obama and the Democrats win and that the Republicans lose. However after five months your ship is not a month away from land but you learn that you will be landing safely in about two more months. Now would you want to replace the captain who has for sure gotten you to eventual safety with the first captain that got you lost and after the first captain tells you that he will do the same things that got you lost in the first place? That is the choice we Americans have to make in the next election. Do you want to follow the path to recovery that President Obama is putting us on or do you want to go back to the path that Romney and the Republicans want to take us on which is the path that got us into the trouble that we were on. Romney and the Republicans want to extend the Bush tax cuts for the rich and give other tax breaks to the rich. Also Romney and the Republicans want to increase military spending so to enrich their buddies in the military/industrial complex. Doing this will increase the deficit which will make Romney and the Republicans cut the budget more than they intend on which will hurt the middle class and the poor. Then Romney and the Republicans want to cut or gut as many regulations and environmental laws as possible. This will lead to more Wall Street ripoffs and a worse environment. Then the Republicans want to pass a law that will make abortions illegal and gut Planned Parenthood which will hurt women immensely. “America is Back” President Obama can proclaim to America. Romney and the Republicans will bring us to the days of past that got America in the jam that President Obama is successfully pulling us out of.

AMERICA”S BACK! America is better off then it was four years ago thanks to President Obama who saved America from a Depression and is pulling us out of this Recession. Now if we were to have followed the advice of Romney and the Republicans and not rescued the big banks and major investment firms then our country would of slip into a Depression that it would still be pulling itself out of to this day. If the biggest banks would of not been rescued and failed then many companies deposits as well as many individuals deposits would have been forever lost. Also many foreign investors would of pulled their investments and deposits out of America. If we would have let the biggest investment firms go under then investors in those investment companies would of lost their investments which would of added to the downturn of the American economy. The banks and the investment firms are paying back the borrowed money so we Americans didn’t lose much of anything if anything but did gain a lot because what we did helped us to avoid a Depression, no thanks to Romney and the Republicans. All Romney and the Republicans will do if they win control of the government is to have us ALL singing ” Oh No! Here We Go Again!” Romney and the Republicans want to bring back the days of voodoonomics. Romney and the Republicans want to extend the Bush tax cuts and give other tax breaks to the rich while also increasing the military budget. This will lead to higher deficits which will make the Republicans cut the budget more which will hurt the middle class and lower class. Also Romney and the Republicans want to cut or gut many regulations. Lack of regulations is what got America into financial trouble on Wall Street and we don’t need that anymore. If President Obama is re-elected then the Bush tax cuts will be allowed to expire which will bring in more tax revenue which will help bring down the deficit. Then the budget cuts agreed upon by Congress in 2011 will take effect which will decrease the deficit more.Republicans ALWAYS use character assassination to belittle others so that others won’t vote for those that the Republicans don’t want into office. The use of the word socialist is a term that Republicans try to pin on those they want to politically defeat. The Republicans are a hateful, demeaning, uncaring, disrespectful, ungodly, arrogant and selfish bunch of communist capitalistic pigs. The Republican Party of today do just as the communist of the Soviet Union did in their quest to silence people as they try to brainwash people into believing the lies that they espouse. The Republicans as well as the communist of the Soviet Union wanted to consolidate power into their hands as they try to brainwash the people into believing what it is that they believe. The Republicans as well as the communist of the Soviet Union want to make sure that they are doing all right and the heck with anybody else. The Republicans as well as the communist of the Soviet Union wanted to unnecessarily build up the military of their country even if it drove their country broke. The Republicans have destroyed America with their voodoonomics just as the communist of the Soviet Union ruined their country economically. The Republicans are upset that Obamacare will put the government into the health insurance business by setting up health insurance pools which will deplete health insurance profits and make the health insurance industry provide coverage to sick people instead of dropping them from their insurance which will lessen the profits that the health insurance industry will make. That doesn’t make President Obama a socialist!

Let me ask ALL of you something, how is it that giving tax breaks to ANYONE making over $120,000 a year going to stimulate the economy? Those making over that amount can ALREADY afford most of the things that fuel the economy or can ALREADY afford to buy the things that make the economy grow! Those people making more than $120,000 ALREADY own ALL or can buy or most of the things that grow the economy that people buy in the house like food, refrigerators,carpeting, furniture, clothes, kitchen utensils, cars etc.. So the rich get their their tax breaks and spend it on going on foreign vacations, buying foreign cars, savings or investments and other things that doesn’t grow the American economy. It’s the people making between $18,000 and $75,000 that can stimulate the economy the most because this group of wage earners are the ones who NEED to buy the THINGS that improve our economy! Remember the economy is like a piece of pie. The more people who can afford a piece of the pie the bigger the pie you will need! Creating consumers is how you improve the economy! You DON”T create consumers with Romney’s voodoonomics tax cuts for the rich! Also we need to give tax breaks to ONLY small companies that are not making much of a profit not big companies that don’t need them like oil companies. The Republicans have decreased the amount of consumers that America had with the Depression that they caused in 2008. President Obama is doing all he can to create more consumers while Romney and the Republicans are doing their best to stop him from doing so! Think about all of this and more before you vote!
It’s OBVIOUS that Boehner, Romney and the rest of the Republicans are out of touch when it comes to solving the economic problems facing our country and in fact are the cause of our economic problems. By Romney and the Republicans opposing any tax increase on the rich the deficit goes up which causes more tax revenue to go towards paying out more money to cover the additional cost to the government to pay the interest cost of borrowing needed to make the government function. The rich, those making over $200,000 a year, DO NOT create jobs by getting more money! President Obama has saved America from this Republican caused Depression that now has deteriorated into a Republican caused Recession that Obama is still pulling America out of, unfortunately without ANY help from the Republicans. Jobs in the private sector are just as good as jobs in the public sector. A person with a job is a consumer. Willard Romney and the Republicans are TERRIBLE at creating CONSUMERS but are intent at making themselves richer even if it isn’t good for the country in how they do that. Romney and the Republicans ONLY care about themselves! Romney and the Republicans are not the kind of people we need running our country

Even by government count there are 8.2% of the popualtion after 31/2 years of reasons to get rid of obama.Not to even counting the trillions of reasons spent getting us to this point.
