Democrats in 2002 tried making the opposite argument that they are today — that Romney had not only left Bain in 1999, but had also effectively left Massachusetts as well to work on the Salt Lake City Olympics.

They insisted that Romney had become a resident of Utah, not Massachusetts, and was therefore ineligible to run for governor.

Quote:
The Ballot Commission agreed with Democrats at that time that Romney had left Bain Capital on February 11, 1999, after having been employed in Massachusetts from 1975 to 1999. Furthermore, the commission noted that while Romney returned to Massachusetts for social and business events, none of the events had anything to do with Bain. Romney attended board meetings for Staples, but Romney sat on that board, as well as others. No mention was made of any Bain events or meetings attended by Romney — and in that case, Romney would have had an incentive to play up his involvement at Bain, in order to establish eligibility for the office he was seeking.

By the way.....read the whole thing! The Liberal leaning Washington Post's FactCheck gives Team Obama 3 Pinnochios (a lie) on the Bain Capital attack.

Poor 70Ford....just can't seem to post things that are on-topic and instead deflects away from things that show his Golden Boy really is a complete FLOP!

I can only surmise that he thinks the DEMOCRATS and the JUDGE were all LYING back in 2002???

Good point. He left Bain - did absolutely nothing to run the company or being involved in anything for years - and still got paid. Over 100k. Was it 101K for doing nothing? Was it 25 million a year?

Who knows.

He's not telling.

Maybe he can take two years off and we can just let everyone else handle it, like he did at Bain.
He can save the Olympics with more hundreds of millions of federal bailout tax dollars like he did last time

Still unable to address the topic I see???

Why do you refuse to talk about the DEMOCRATS arguing that Romney had nothing to do with Bain after 1999?

Ford, this is so-misrepresented by you. The federal government has a long standing funding involvement with Olympics on U.S. soil. Including Atlanta, Los Angeles, Lake Placid, in addition to Salt Lake City. GAO even produced a report on the amounts, purposes and so forth, of that funding associated with U.S. cities conducting Olympic games.

It is all here on the internet, for those able to do basic research. I'll presume you just haven't had the time, because I know you would not twist things just to suit your narrative, or even outright lie. Would you?
