Ryan proposed a change to medicare. A change to BAU. People don't like change.
Even with the system running out of money they don't want it changed.
Fear of the unknown maybe ?
I don't think they are "radical" per say but at least they have proposals on the table for discussion.
Sure beats the "tax and cut" rhetoric coming out of DC today.
You will find out in due time. Why would they want to show there cards now.Its Better to control how they expose these two
Team Obama doesn't really have much more time where they will be in control of the narrative, unless Team Romney allows them to be (Team Romney and even the pro-Romney Super PAC's have been doing a horrible job so far, so they may very well allow them to be). After the convention, Team Romney will be able to spend all its $$$$$, which it already has more of and is continuing to raise more of than Team Obama. If Team Romney actually gets its act together, they will be firmly in control.
Reducing all non-entitlement spending to 3.75% of GDP when defense alone hasn't been less than 4% since WWII is fairly radical. Some Americans like education, transportation, food safety, border security, the FBI, disaster relief, and the CDC, to name just a few.
His support for "personhood" legislation that would impose a federal ban on many oral contraceptives and IUDs, as well as in vitro fertilization, is fairly radical.

ETA: I do like the direction of these new threads. If we can spend the next three months talking about Ryan's radicalism and "right-wing social engineering," that's a big win for the American people. Good choice, Mitt.
