That's a really tough one, eh Libs?
So why is it OK for them to ignore their church leadership on one issue, but not on the other?

We're not talking about the followers but the Church itself.

Gee, this thread sounds like the reverse of the ones than come out when the righties rise to defend the Catholics over contraceptives and abortion rights.

Well, one set is a group of Bishops.

The OTHER is the head (Cardinal) of the entire Catholic Church in the USA.

What do you expect from someone who's the flag bearer for atheist Ayn Rand? He's trying to back away from it now, but this is the guy that spoke to the Atlas society and told them that Rand was the reason he went into politics--he forced his staff to read her books and gave them to friends as Christmas presents. I'm very tolerant of people with different faith convictions than mine, but I don't know how anyone who calls themselves a person of faith can vote for an athiest (he calls himself a catholic, but actions speak louder than words), especially someone who follows Rand--an atheist whose beliefs revolve around ethical egoism--the belief that everyone should do what's best for them and forget how it impacts others. I can't think of a more unchristian world view.

I am an Atheist, and even I will stand up for what the Cardinal of the Catholic Church says about religious freedoms being trampled!!!

I am grateful I have the right to NOT believe and along with that freedom goes THEIR right to follow their religion.

As if the denial of Catholic hospitals' right to deny contraception to their lay nurses were somehow equivalent to the Holocaust.

What drama queens you Romney/Ryan shills are.

What part of Catholic dogma is it that specifies the coverage of healthcare when acting as an employer?

Yes it does go for contraception, which is why the government has no authority to force religious employers to provide contraception to employees.
