Two Ohio polls came out today. PPP and Rasmussen.

PPP shows a statistical tie with Obama at 48 and Romney at 45, within the poll's margin of error. Obama's approval is at just 46% in the state according to the poll.

Remember, lefties, that Nate Silver (who you all usually trust) has said PPP has a "house effect" that leans Democratic of over 3 points.

Colorado Peak Politics:: SHOCK: New York Times Finds Democrat Pollster PPP Oversamples Democrats Badly

The poll was conducted partially before the Ryan announcement and partially after. Properly adjusted for the house effect, Romney would be slightly up.

Rasmussen shows Romney at 45 and Obama at 45. In Rasmussen's last OH poll, Obama was up by 2.

Election 2012: Ohio President - Rasmussen Reports™

The Rasmussen poll was conducted yesterday, so it was after the Ryan announcement.

Also, Rasmussen found that Ryan's net favorability in Ohio is +12:

Ohio: 51% Have Favorable Opinion of Paul Ryan - Rasmussen Reports™

Remember that a few weeks ago we were seeing multiple OH polls come out where Obama was up by 6 or more.

Of course he can. And he needs to. While it would be possible for him to win without Ohio, it would be highly unlikely. He needs to step it up in Ohio. He needs to in other states as well, but it seems like Ohio has been the state where the anti-Romney ads have had the greatest impact. These polls are encouraging news, but obviously Romney has a lot of work to do.
