You left out the guy that has met all protocol to be on the ballot for nomination, in Tampa, except being a paying member of the establishment.
Ron Paul.
If he is not going to win, at least let the guy that started the Conservative movement, to speak, if he has met all the rules to be nominated in the first place.
What do they fear if Ron Paul speaks? Romney has it wrapped up, right?
Paul is too much of a straight shooter and a constitutionalist...... Snubbing him has just made the election a landslide.
Unless you want to sell more tin foil, why would you have them any where near your convention? Romney wants to try to make it as respectable as possible. Palin and Bachmann would make it a circus.
Sorry but it has been a circus since Obama has been elected and the GOP decided to block everything.

This. I do wish they invited Allen West or Tim Scott.
Speakers at GOP convention. Why no Bush, Palin, Cheyney, Bachmann

Because the GOP doesn't have rock stars. They are people who have lives to live, and who don't think government is any big deal... and that it should stay that way. Government is basically a bunch of custodians who take care of unimportant and/or uninteresting matters, and should be treated accordingly. Only when someone starts actively threatening our rights (as bin Laden, Saddam, and Obama/Reid/Pelosi have done), does government take on any real importance. And then the task becomes to simply make them a lot less important, so we can get back to REAL life. Two down, one to go in Nov.
It's a very different view of government, from what the Nanny-state liberal fanatics hold: Where government is the do-all and be-all of everything important in life, without which they feel the "little people" cannot possibly survive.

No, YOU can't keep Clinton away.
Thanks for pointing out so succinctly why political parties shouldn't have rockstars, and especially shouldn't have Rockstars.

They're doin the safety dance and mostly all make me sick especially kasich and mccain(major barf). I'm just a chump in a two party system that is sick of voting for the lesser of two evils.

Got to get elected in order to implement all this small government hocus pocus you speak of... Best way to get ELECTED is have the best speakers possible step forward to represent those views................ Is this the best the GOP has to offer?
I am just interested in why the Rockstars of the GOP have been left out of speaking at the convention in Tampa this year.
You can't keep Clinton away so why is it after a successful 8yr presidency is George Bush or Dick Cheyney not given a chance to speak.
Palin has Obvious sway and really fires up the base.
Gingrich is a helluva speaker and a pretty smart fellow.
Rick Perry has a following
Bachmann has a load of fans..........
Now thats who didnt make the dance...............Lets talk about a few who did.
Nikki Haley, the first woman to serve as South Carolina governor: THis is a joke for the few folks on CD who are from SC, should know that so much dirt has come out on this woman and her administration if she ran for dog catcher "TODAY" she would lose............ Corrupt and inept
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.),: Is this the only military man you can find. A guy that a good percentage of the base abhores. Come on man
Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R): Got his peepee smacked by referendum on his Collective Bargaining laws.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R): Talk about buyers remorse my folks are from Florida and are there to see first-hand conservative horror as they find out about this guys medical fraud scams and fines. Info that was ignored in a Tea Party Fueled election.... Even Conserv's are pissed off with him turning down the building of the trains to Orlando. Should be doing the perp walk instead of a Governor of a fine state like FL.
The Guys I would pick to speak--------------- are succesfull
Scott Walker Wisconsin Gov ----the numbers dont lie he Kicked @$s in his recall Tom Corbett Penn Gov ---- Voter ID laws mission accomplished, School system nearly privatized. Petraeus -------- Need a Military man Virginia Gov Bob McDonnell-------- Virginia is VITAL
Just my thoughts, even though I believe both sides work for the same puppeteers it seems the GOP is doing a good job of not even trying to win this year.
Since you plan so well maybe you could tell us just how the Dems selected their keynote speaker in 2004. As I recall he was an Illinois Senator who nobody knew because he hadn't been elected to the Senate yet. Surely they had some better known people that year. Who made that selection?
Paul is too much of a straight shooter and a constitutionalist...... Snubbing him has just made the election a landslide.
So the truth comes out for the reason you started the thread. People who support Paul are the kind of people who are still shopping for an Edsel. Give it up, even if Paul really was the answer, he no longer exists! It's over, give it up. Continuing to push for Paul at this stage just makes you look foolish........
Seems the GOP is trying very hard to distance themselves from the extreme right-wing fringe by not inviting the so-called "rock stars" of that element of the Republican Party. As you pointed out, Not only is Palin being left out but the others as well, such as Cheney, Bush, and Bachmann.
Clinton volunteers and insists if left out. Bush has not tried at all and you whine about that.
