Should have a plan B. This also appears to list write-in requirements by state.
Candidate Write In Requirements, State Certifications for Bill Nees

States not allowing write-ins. (Notice TX is surrounded.)
Arkansas, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota

NOTE: This is about the write-in site information, not Bill Nees.

NJ and NM seem to also have issues, of a bureaucratic nature. Best to be prepared.

New Jersey

There is no form or procedure needed to qualify to be a write-in candidate for President. Any voter can write-in a candidate's name.
Note: Write-in votes will only be tabulated if there are enough of them to contest the election. Why This?

New Mexico

Their elections department said that New Mexico does not have any “provision” for write-in voting/candidacy for President.

In West Virginia you need to file something announcing your intention to run as a write in and there is a list of registered write-in candidates posted at the polls.

Which means in West Virginia at least, you can't write someone in unless they have taken some steps to allow that to be possible.I don't know if any other states have a similar setup.

Yeah, that is why I said Plan B. Voting for someone else if you can't do a write-in. The links I have listed cover all of this really well.

Well damn Im registered Republican in South Dakota, I guess I'll just have to vote for my Rep that says the concealed carry permit is unconstitutional and got it through both houses last year only to be veto'ed by our Governor, hopefully he's gonna pay for that

I really was planning on writing in Ron Paul, not sure If I'll be able to vote for Gary Johnson, If I have to I'll vote for Romney but he has this state wrapped up anyway....
