Speaker after speaker at the Dem National Convention has been crying stridently the glowing figures:

"There have been 4,500,000 jobs created during the Obama administration!"

Sounds wonderful, except for one thing.

It isn't true.

It isn't even close.

The correct numbers?

Total jobs in January 2009. . . 111.0 million.
Total jobs in July of 2012. . . . 111.3 million.
Actual number of jobs created: 0.3 million. That's 300,000 jobs created over the 3-1/2 years Obama has been in office.

Aside from that little discrepancy, the Democrats' frantic claims are accurate.

Well, they are only off by MORE THAN A THOUSAND PERCENT.

It makes me wonder:

If the Democrats were going to tell such flagrant lies about what they had done, why did they bother to actually DO anything at all?

Why not just sit around and play basketball and golf for their entire tenure?
And then announce they had created 4 million jobs, gotten everybody out of poverty, doubled the American standard of living, ended all wars, and made the entire world love us?

In fact, that's pretty much what they DID do... sit around. And the rest is pretty much what they are claiming now at their Convention.

It would be a more accurate claim than "4.5 million jobs created".

Source: CNN Fact Check: About those 4.5 million jobs ... - CNN.com

You know the Democrats are in major trouble when the only way they can make themselves look good, is by telling lies about themselves.

During the end of the W admin, we were losing 3/4 of a million jobs a month. When all was said and done, W had a net job creation of negative 646,000 jobs.
W also expanding public sector jobs (AKA "big government") exponentially.

Thank god Obama and the dems took control to put the brakes on the complete nightmare the GOP created, and almost right away turned the economy around leading us to 23 straight months of positive private sector job creation, while shrinking public sector jobs (AKA "big government"

Obama has created more private sector jobs in just three years, than W did in his entire presidency. Thanks Obama!

It's funny to watch the Democrats try to pretend they created jobs... by ignoring the part of their administration where jobs crashed like a ton of bricks (and due to Democrat policies).

It's sort of like the liberals went outdoors at 6:00 AM and saw the temperature was 50 degrees. Then they went outdoors again at 2:00 PM, and saw the temperature was now 80 degrees....

...and went around screeching that we'll all be incinerated by the end of the month.

Most of the Bush job losses occurred after Obama was elected and businesses panicked. They were right. He has been as much of a failure as they thought he would be, and more.

No intelligent American can possibly think Obama has done a good job on jobs or the economy. The democrats can lie all they want and only the sheep will believe them.

It's funny how the economy crashed like never before caused by the right wingers, and bounced back to 23 straight months of positive job growth because of the democrats, but still the brainwashed goons can't understand that

LMAO! I swear, there has to be a strong correlation between having a severe mental illness, and being a right winger.

Back in the real world, the economy was already contracting when the Lehman Brothers collapsed on September 20th, 2008. And it was this event, and not the election that sparked the financial panic that saw credit markets freeze, employers to slash jobs, and the stock market to tank.

Who do you think you're fooling? We all remember Paulson's first bailout proposal, Bush's emergency address, McCain's campaign "suspension", and Obama cementing his victory.
