Are you talking about the Romney campaign logos or about the Obama campaign logos?

It really doesn't matter, both campaigns have redesigned the flag as a logo.

Can you explain to me what the three stars mean in the Republican National Convention logo?

Did they remove any of the elements of the flag? Or is it simply the flag with the addition of the yellow ribbon? The difference between that and the image we are discussing is that it redesigns the flag, it doesn't simply add something over it.

In your example, it can be construed as supporting America and its troops. The one in question, it can mean a lot of things. Maybe that was not their intent, but a flag is an image of symbolism, we call it the stars and stripes for a reason. Removing the stars and replacing it with his logo destroys the flags symbolism and changes its meaning. Whether that was intentional or not... /shrug, but it is a valid issue concerning it.

Lets see, it has stars and stripes (you could question the number of stars, but I think it is reasonable to say space is a limitation). It has their logo over the flag. Similar to the example I explained earlier, it isn't technically removing anything (the basis symbolism of the flag is retained).

The Obama one I can't see any stars at all. The removal of the stars is a major change in the significance of the symbolism. As I said, stars and stripes is how we often refer to it. Without the stars it is simply Obama symbol and the stripes. The symbol has no meaning of its original design which is significant to its purpose.

So what? Don't buy it.

It's not a replacement of the US flag, idiots.

Wow, after reading through this thread I would say there is a dire need for many to take medication. Seriously, to rile up against a campaign for making a stupid logo? You people are just silly.
