Romney Enlists General Behind Iraq Debacle as Key Military Adviser

Deliberately concealed from the American public how in 2001, at Bush White House's request, he was planning an Iraq invasion—while we were still trying to topple the Taliban and find bin Laden in Afghanistan.

Lost track of bin Laden at Tora Bora in late 2001, then claimed he hadn't, then was proven wrong.

Perpetuated the bogus "weapons of mass destruction" myth about Iraq.

Ignored warnings from his CENTCOM predecessor that Iraq wouldn't be a walk in the park, and disregarded an earlier series of US war games, titled Desert Crossing, that predicted many of the difficulties of an Iraq occupation.

The worst thing Regan ever did was to close many of the mental hospitals, and now we have to deal with the results...

Hey, I'm no General, but if I was attempting to capture bin Laden by surrounding him, I would try all fours sides...DUH!!

Although, by allowing bin Laden to escape that cave, it gave Obama the opportunity to have him killed. Something that Bush failed to do while promising to "smoke him out". Some freakin' General!!! Some Freakin' Commander in Chief!!!

NO MORE BUSH!!!!

Ha...no more Bush, but you support 4 more years of the guy that is hardly any different than Bush or Romney? These guys ALL want war and conflict, people need to wake up to that.

You're way ahead of me. I can't for the life of me figure out what it's all about. I suppose nothing, as usual.

I supported a true Progressive during the 2008 primaries, but when it came down to the elections I naturally voted for Obama as opposed to Mccain. Obama is not perfect, but he is not a Neocon and I do not hear him beating the drum for war with Iran as Romney has. Furthermore, Romney has enlisted the advice of 70% of the Bush Neocon advisors. When I see Cheney, Rice and even Rumsfeld being resurrected to support and endorse Romney, that is enough of a red flag for me to feel what imitates a vicious virus in the pit of my stomach.

That's actually a myth...mental health facilities had slowly been deinstitutionalizing people since the 1970s, developing the philosophy people had the right to live on their own unless an immediate danger to themselves or others. Reagan's policies had many negative, far-reaching consequences, but that was not one of them.
