On both September 12th and Septmeber 13th of 2012, President Obama referred to the embassy attack as "an act of terror".
What exactly is the reason for spinning this other than the attempt to score points for Romney/Ryan who collectively do not have the foreign policy experience and acumen that Joe Biden has in his pinky. Sadly, the right wing base is not smart enough to understand that they are being played by propaganda and lies.
Those are the only relevant facts, facts that everyone knew on the morning of the 12th.
Whether it was an act by a specific terrorist group or a flash mob, it was a despicable terrorist act!
A cover-up entails keeping the fact that the consulate was attack to begin with. A cover-up is keeping the fact that Americans were killed.

Biden spouted off some wild figure telling Ryan it was all his fault for voting down what would have been enough money. I don't recall the figure but if it cost that much to keep a embassy in a 3rd world chit hole we should just pull out and let these place go to hell in a hand basket anyway, Like RON PAUL wants to do cut foreign aid.....

With ambassador Stevens's assassination, the State Department lost a highly regarded career diplomat, largely because the administration had to preserve its fictions that the post-Gaddafi Libya was stable and that Al Quada was a spent force. They tried to say the attack was because of a movie continuing to attempt to hide the fact that it was a terror attack.
They call us The Great Satan and Israel is called the Little Satan and they chant "Death To America".
As much as we wish the president was right unfortunately he was not. Apologizing and being nice did not work. If there is anything that should come out of this we all should know that No Mr President, the world is not a safer place and terrorist want to kill Americans. That is why others believe in Peace Through Strength. (in other words, we do not want to go to war but we must look strong to discourage attacks against us.
Although I hear Obama did do some good things with foreign affairs, unfortunately his foreign policy did not work for the most part. And hiding something like this from the American people is dangerous and just not right.
