What possible justification could be given for the stand down orders? Did they want Ambassador Stevens killed?
Did they want him killed? THAT I find incredibly unpleasant..difficult to swallow.
I think more of a combination of gross incompetence, and mostly..unwillingness to acknowledge an ongoing terrorist attack. He's in the midst of campaign mode, and a central theme of his stump speech is "bin Laden dead,Al Queda on the run'. As the attack unfolds, so does that theme. Stand down, hope for minimal damage, spin a false narrative about protestors...and hope if disappears into the back pages.

It was a failed "false flag" event. Stevens was supposed to be "kidnapped" and Obama would come to the rescue, gaining the praise of the nation and delivering the election to him. The appearance of the Navy SEALS messed up the whole plan and caused it to go terribly wrong. Why else would the "terrorists" have been using US weapons? Why would there be no attempt to use available military assets to assist the Ambassador? Why the need for a cover up?
When everything is discovered, Obama will probably do some jail time, unless he gains a pardon from Romney. It might be best for the nation if Obama was pardoned, such that everyone could focus on the economy and just be thankful that he is gone.

If Obama is smart, he will resign before January and have Biden pardon him.
Bidens remarks about Obama having intelligence regarding the embassy being a protest about the movie will come back to haunt this administration. It will be like deep throat for Nixon. Intelligence is clearly reporting to Congress that they knew all along there was no protest and it was a terrorist attack. This is a coverup that could lead to impeachment. Obama was trying to protect himself for not providing the proper security for the embassy after repeated requests. He was also trying to hide the fact that a major terror attack happened on his watch since he was expecting his strength against terrorism due to the killing of Osama to help his re-election bid.
