Before the debate, Romney demanded that during the debate Martha Raddaz was not to use Congressman Ryan's title and should substitute "Mr." for "Congressman". Does the Romney campaign think the American public is so stupid they don't realize that Paul Ryan is part of the unpopular congress? What was the point of this stipulation?

The respectful gentleman the Vice President is, he addressed Paul Ryan as "Congressman." But the Congressman repeatedly addressed the Vice President as, "Joe." At least that's what I believe I kept hearing. It was an immature performance by the Congressman.

A funny, and I think more accurate than not, line I heard from someone following the debate is:

"What's the difference between Paul Ryan and Sarah Palin?" "Lipstick." When I read it I couldn't stop chuckling to myself. Palin, dense as she is, performed better, was more respectful ... and, naturally, is the better looking of the two.

That's funny and you're right that Romney isn't giving the public much credit if he thinks we don't know what CONGRESSMAN Ryan has been up to these past few years. Typical, though, because he doesn't have much if any respect for the middle class.

Not only do they think the public is stupid ... they have hard evidence (see 2000 and 2004 presidential election results)

Hopefully Martha told Shady Mitt to take a hike after he made that (laughable) request, by the way...

It was the oddest thing I ever heard. A Congressman distancing himself from his title? Very bizarre.

Not only do I not believe a word you just said, but you don't either...

All candidates should be forbidden from saying "My friend". It was obnoxious with McCain and even more obnoxious with Biden.

While it was polite, I agree with your sentiment that the "My friend" was overdone. It's how Biden almost always addresses people in similar situations, but ...
