Do you mean job approval? He's cracked 50 in a bunch of those lately.

Are you talking about national polls? They're tied basically.

The Polls still favor Romney to win, even though by a 50/50 or slight margin!

No one will OVERTLY cut SS. No one.

What they would do is just print more money and then push down the reality of inflation. Then you blame everybody else, especially "evil businesses" for raising prices. That's how you stick it too old people because most people in the US lack the education to understand that making $100 only buy $90 worth of stuff is just as much of a cut as reducing the benefit to $90.

Increasing taxes, cutting benefits are tough sells....so you have to sneak in the back door.

P.S. Not sure what day you think it is today but Romney hasn't lost yet. Do I think Obama will probably win? Yes...but not by much and it all teeters on a couple swing states so Romney may win after all.
You are clueless. We are not talking about some scary rhetoric coming from the right. His own administration is admitting this

I've posted multiple sources showing Obama is planning to cut a deal to lower SS benefits. So I'm not sure where you are getting that he will not overtly cut benefits.

I put nothing past the degenerates who are backing Willard - Karl Rove and the Koch brothers, for example.

Nothing.

No one plays dirtier politics than Rove.

Obama leads in national poll 61 to 39.

Source: BajanYankee poll, Nov. 1, 2012, 1 LV sample*

*This poll uses the same methodology as Rasmussen, Gravis Marketing, and Citizens United...which is just making up a number that sounds good to the pollster.

This is not new news. Reduced SS payments going forward are unavoidable no matter who is elected. Check out the Retirement Forum. Lengthy discussions on why payouts of SS will need to be reduced. Any retiree paying attention knows that by 2023 SS payments will need to be cut about 25% due to continued low GDP going forward (yes, no matter who is elected, GDP higher than 2-3% is a ridiculous expectation), lower wages going forward, less revenues to the system, the baby boomer bulge sucking payments, plus all the auxiliary payments such as spousal benefits to noncontributing spouses, and dependent benefits, disability payments, etc.

Mircea on CD has done yoeman's work on this issue, posting numerous times on Retirement with tons of data and statistics that has convinced everyone SS is in need of an overhaul, starting with raising the income cap, means testing of benefits which, yes, is wealth redistribution, and reduction in payments going forward.

I am a retiree, will be voting for Obama, and am planning that my current SS benefit may be reduced at some point in the next ten years. I am not a wealthy retiree with a $100k income, which many are, and I can't afford a reduction. But 75% of something is better than 0% of nothing.
