north carolina is irrelevant. it just wouldve been one more feather in obamas cap if he won it.

ive continued to maintain that the only states obama should be focusing on are Wisconsin/Ohio and Nevada/Iowa. If he wins Wisconsin, Ohio, and one of those 2(nevada/iowa) obama wins.

That is a confident statement. It shows confidence in Romney winning the state. The reporter (or more likely copy editor who wrote the headline) was entirely accurate in that characterization. I am just sick and tired of the media bashing for absurd semantics.
Whatever, lol.

If you read carefully, you can see that the statement can mean either that Romney is ahead or Romney is behind. He didn't say which way the polls are widening, did he?

So maybe it is confident and maybe it isn't, based on your need to read into that statement.

The fact remains: this state is a toss up.

And unless you are an active member of the Republican Party in NC . . . I don't think you are qualified to speak to the issue of how much work is being done at the grassroots level - WITHOUT any need for hand-holding from the Romney campaign.

You may very well be correct.

Really, Ani? I have always had respect for your opinions on here, but you're being churlish here.

Did you not read the rest of the article which mentioned that polls show Romney up 52-46? Or did you just wanted to take an unwarranted shot at the "media?" Shooting the messenger seems to be the entire GOP strategy these days.

You and I have always enjoyed debating this stuff, lol. I am sorry if I am coming off as churlish (a very underused word and one I hope does not apply to me).

I did read the article, but the whole "confident of victory" thing is what chaps me.

I am not trying to just take a jab at the media.

It's just that at the grassroots level, folks are not taking a victory for granted but yet this article makes it sound like folks are.

One way to follow the direction of the race is to follow the money. The campaigns have internal polls and models that the general public doesn't see and acts on it.

Romney is moving focus and resources to Ohio. Lose Ohio and it doesn't matter what happens in NC. The refocus is just proof of how limited Romney's paths to victory are.
