If everyone thinks like you there would be no solid states.

Not really, no state election for President has ever been decided by just one vote. Any one person's single vote is meaningless with respect to a federal election and even at the local dogcatcher level, elections that hinge on a single vote are more rare than a lottery winner getting struck by lightning on the way to the bank.

The truth is that at the individual level, no voter regardless of state makes a difference. It might give you a warm feeling inside to vote, but it ultimately would not change the outcome one bit if you and several hundred or even several thousand other people just stayed home on election day.

That would probabaly be a good thing. Politicians should not take our votes for granted, imo

I learned that in high school long ago, but never found out if was true! Sort of defeats the purpose of all the hoop la and going to vote which won't even count!
I'm sure someone will come around and explain it differently that it ain't so!

I have no problem with it. Non swing states, by simply being red or blue puppets serving their masters, create their own lack of importance.

Not voting, and voting for a third party are the same thing. They are both a vote for maintaining the status quo. In otherwords, a vote for Obama.

You're absolutely right. But maybe we should tell all the Obama supporters that they can stay home if they are not in a swing state!
