There is more than just the president to vote for in each election. I vote on all levels, even if I do live in a state that is safe for the president because I think it is the local and state politicians that will have the most direct effect on my life.

I should have clarrified, I meant in the Presidential election

Then leave that box blank, personally living in a safe state, I like seeing my state go as strong as it can for the one I support, besides my vote does add to the popular vote even if we don't elect by popular vote.

Vote 3rd party then, although regardless of what kind of state you live in, a vote for the candidates you feel is right is your one chance to voice your opinion every election.

Here is the solution. Get rid of the electoral college. Who ever gets the most votes win....just that simple and it's fair. This will force a 50 state campaign where the candidates won't be pandering to just a few states.
