McCain accepts Mourdock explanation, backs him

You know the issue I am having with this is the making excuses for Mourdock's comments (and they are rampant in Indiana) state, the child is an act of God. OK. Rape is heinous. OK, but God doesn't condone rape or enact his will when it comes to rape but the child that comes from that is an act of God.

Well odds are that woman wouldn't be pregnant at that time if it weren't for the rape so if every child is an Act of God, the means to procreate said child also has to be an act of God so how can you say the child is an act of God but the rape isn't? If it's God's will a woman gets impregnated that way, means it would have also had to have been Gods will for the act to have happened in that fashion.

McCain showed once again why he lost in '08. His comments are sensible to anyone with reading comprehension. He was clear to denounce rape but said the child is an act of God.

Religious beliefs aside I think we can all agree the unborn child is an innocent by product of a heinous act.

Should be captioned McCain capitulates.

I miss JM circa 2000. Before he lost all intestinal fortitude, and became a RNC puppet.

So it is fine to torture another in the innocent's place? Basically you are forcing a woman to raise a child that will remind her of the violent act for the rest of her life. What happens if that person was the woman's father (happens commonly)?

Now some woman do raise a child from "rape" victims, and that is there choice. But many would find it dramatic and possibly life-altering.

Unless you are going to take these children and make them "wards of the State"

I just can't find any justification here to outlaw a choice in rape here. Unless we want to be like the Taliban and deny choice to everyone in order to follow a strict dogma.
