Why not just take Bush's word for it that he enjoys being OUT of politics now?

I can certainly understand that someone would be tired of politics after being in office for eight years.

Plus, it's actually not proper etiquette for a former President to do that.

Since Bush won two terms on that platform, why wouldn't Romney want him out there stumping? Or any Republican for that matter.
The only thing Bush needs to help Romney with is riggin the election, get them Diebold machines fired up!

Well they do have a lot in common.

I'm not sure about that. Obama trashes Bush all the time. I think if Bush were to push back it would hurt Obama. Most reasonable people liked Bush as a person, just not his policies.
I don't think it would have worked 4 years ago, but people are disillusioned with Obama now, so it would have at least some impact now.
But I admire him for sticking to his principles. He said he would not talk negatively about Obama (in public at least), and he hasn't. No matter how nasty Obama has been about him, Bush has let it go.
It truly shows who the bigger person is.

I don't know if it was you or not, but this has been posted almost in the exact words about 3 times now. Who knows, but it doesn't have anything to do with how you are going to vote anyway, so why are you bringing it up?

EVERYONE has the inside track to that!

Are you too young to remember the Monica Lewinsky scandal? He was impeached for lying about it!

Better yet...let's bring out Bush...and have him admit to the world that Obama's troubles are all due to Bush administartion policies and what they left Obama with, and therefore...everyone should now join with him and vote to give Obama four more years to prove himself!

Until Clinton was pulled in at the DNC to help with what had proven to be a fairly lackluster convention, I had never seen a former President actively campaign for any candidate, sitting President or not.

Let's think this through.

I have been watching elections since Kennedy/Nixon. Eisenhower didn't help Nixon out. And Truman was alive and he didn't help Kennedy campaign.

Now go through the years since. I cannot name one former President who campaigned for anyone else.
