The irony is that the ridiculous Electoral College system was setup to benefit what we call the red states. I would love to see them hoisted on their own petard.

After the conservative leaning Supreme Court basically "selected" GWB in 2000 I could care less what the right has to say about this as a possibility. Whatever way President Obama wins re-election I will gladly take!

The discord between the national polls and the state polls is striking. What it indicates to me is that a) red states are getting redder, b) Obama has lost some votes in strong blue states, and c) Romney has not gained enough in states like IA, OH, NV and NH to flip them, and he probably won't. Momentum is pretty clearly stalled now - the polls have all been showing similar results for the past two weeks, with Obama not being able to take a lead nationally, and Romney not being able to take leads in the states he needs to win. It will be an interesting election night, but I'm afraid that we're not going to know the results right away.
