No offense but that view is idiotic. There is first no reason any president would want to increase poverty; second, there is no evidence that Obama has put in place policies that increase poverty; and third, all economic indicators are higher under Obama.

What you sound like is one of those boobs on right-wing radio. These boobs assert that "government doesn't create jobs." Presumably, they think that government jobs don’t supply something of value to society. Government jobs aren’t “real” jobs? After all, the bulk of government workers are in education, protective services, and health. Do these boobs really want to say that schoolteachers, firefighters, and nurses provide nothing of value?

When we listen to people who have brains and use facts and knowledge, we have a clear distinction between the two candidates. Obama uses traditional economic expansion -- using government spending to create economic demand that creates jobs. Unfortunately, he really hasn't been able to do that fully with the reactionary House.

Candidate Romney believes that cutting taxes across the board along with cutting programs for the middle class and poor will be expansionary and cut the deficit. This notion was discredited 30 years ago when it was coined "voodoo economics."

But if Obama is looking out for the middle class, why is Obama proposing to extend their Bush tax cuts for the middle class for only one year? That is because Obama plans on raising taxes on everyone. Obama is just fine with the Bush tax cuts expiring for everyone starting Jan1, 2013.

Obama proposes to allow the Bush tax-cuts to expire only on higher income levels.

Your Forbes link is to an op-ed contributor who is claiming that Obamacare ads a tax. It does but it is puny. In totality, Obama has clearly cut taxes on the middle-class. The only ones who don't acknowledge that are those that don't want to acknowledge it for partisan reasons.

You better do better research unless the left wing media isn't reporting it then vote yourself to get a royal screwing.

A senior Obama campaign official confirmed to CBS News a report in The New York Times that President Obama would officially announce his call for a one-year extension to the tax cuts for Americans at or below that income threshold in a news conference on Monday.

Don't forget military jobs are also government jobs....and by far make up the largest segment of government workers. Republican congresspeople are against all military tax cuts because they want to protect the (sometimes unnecessary) jobs in their district. Ironic, isn't it?

I'm including government jobs at all levels. There are more teachers + police + firemen than there are soldiers.

But the idea that these aren't real jobs is false on inspection--but is indeed ironic, and even Romney admits it:
Quote:
His trillion dollar cuts to our military will eliminate hundreds of thousands of jobs, and also put our security at greater risk;

His $716 billion cut to Medicare to finance Obamacare will both hurt today’s seniors, and depress innovation – and jobs – in medicine.

If the very conservative pghquest were here, he would tell you that this is not a raise on taxes but rather the expiration of a break.

So, conservatives, which one is it?

That would be like the expiration of the Obama's SS break coming right around the corner.
Tax cut ? No, temporary break.

The way families ares struggling now the expiration of this and the Obama (Bush, but Obama owns it for his term duration now) tax cuts are going to hit them like a hammer.
