Flip flopping has nothing to do with this for heaven's sake. There are many threads about his flip flopping, but this is simply pointing out he is trying to assist instead of campaigning at this time. What would you say if it were Obama visiting and delivering supplies to the disaster area?

dave, I like your approach, but the problem with that would be; he will be back on the campaign trail, I am guessing in a few days and will need his logo.

Founded in 1979, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, known simply as FEMA, is an independent agency of the federal government that has multifaceted responsibilities during a time of national disaster. Its responsibilities cover the whole range of a disaster cycle, and include advising on building codes and flood plain management, teaching people how to get through a disaster and assisting them when disasters strike, helping equip local and state emergency preparedness, making disaster assistance available to states and local communities, supporting the nation’s fire service, and administering the national flood and crime insurance programs. As part of America’s emergency management system, FEMA works in partnership with other organizations, including state and local emergency management agencies, more than 20 federal agencies, and the American Red Cross.
Up until the early 1970s, more than 100 federal agencies were involved in some aspect of disasters, hazards, and emergencies. FEMA brought many of the separate disaster-related responsibilities under one roof. It has dealt with disasters and emergencies as far-reaching as the contamination of Love Canal in the mid-1970s, the 1979 accident at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake, and 1992’s Hurricane Andrew. The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, focused the agency on issues of national preparedness and homeland security, and tested the agency in unprecedented ways. The agency coordinated its activities with the newly formed Office of Homeland Security, and FEMA’s Office of National Preparedness was given responsibility for helping to ensure that the nation’s first responders were trained and equipped to deal with weapons of mass destruction.

I just luv this thread where the wingnuts, who typically wouldn't know "empathy" if it bit them in the keister, are now suddenly trying to show us what "caring humanitarians" they all are!!

I'd say he was being silly, when he literally has an entire army at his command, and that he was just doing it for the photo OP.

And before you ask, yes, I did think it was silly when people flipped out over the photo of GWB looking out of his plane window over New Orleans during Katrina.

Yeah, that's leadership, um, no.

If he were so interested he'd have done that for the numerous other disasters we've encountered.

Grandstanding, yes; opportunist, yes.
Leadership, no.
It's not like you have a Romneybus when you aren't running for office.

Since Romney has turned over his campaign bus for humanitarian purposes...will Obama do the same with Air Force 1?

See this: Tithing - Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church? | Mormon.org

Romney is an OPPORTUNIST and nothing more.

Romney's use of a campaign bus for disaster relief is nothing more than a staged "photo op" to get more votes.

Find me just ONE EXAMPLE where Romney ever did anything like this in his past, during a time when he wasn't running for office?

Romney wants to eliminate FEMA, so the federal government won't be there to help disaster victims.

Here is Romney himself saying this:

Romney: Federal Disaster Relief Spending Is 'Immoral' - YouTube

Imagine if Romney were president during Hurricane Katrina ????????
what you don't know could hurt you: 1-it is not a requirement for Mormons to give anything, Normally, like Baptist, etc 10% or tithing is expected. 2-you way 10% to charity, no it is 10% to the church, not just any charity: 2-he gave more than 10%.4-Ron Paul wanted to eleminate FEMA as well, so do many others. This doesn't mean it won't be replaced by some dept that will function better. 4-photo op; did you see the PRes on TV yesterday? He did about a 5 min whatever you want to call it and said next to nothing: that wasn't for publicity purposes? 5-should Pres Obama give most of his money to help others, what about Biden? In both cases they have given almost nothing.

Oh, well. At least the OP is honest in his/her hypocrisy.
wouldn't that depend on who was posting it? Of course you see the story was broken by CBS, not known for their love of the right side....??
