I looked around and I'm a little surprised this hasn't been discussed yet! A week ago, on an episode of The People's Court, CBS tickered the news of Obama winning the 2012 Presidential Election with 43% (40,237,966 votes) to Romney's 40% (38,116,216 votes) with 99% of the precincts reporting!

Just goes to show you how corrupt politics and elections really are.

Considering the source, do we know this actually happened? Not even a very coherent graphic.

It was just a local affiliate station doing a test. No biggie. Unless the actual results end up being 43%-40% with those numbers. Then we might have questions.

and we thought they called the 1948 election early??/

BTW, test or no test, there is no reason for this to have happened....

Well, it appears that the station owned up to it. The fact that they plugged in numbers showing an obama win is very disturbing. Something's very fishy.

This story has been making the rounds on extremist blogs for more than a week. It's probably appeared here on C-D during that time period, as well ... though I don't remember it being posted. Here's an explanation provided by the television station which I've seen posted in response:

Quote:
Michele Wallace of KPHO told TheDC that this was the result of a mistake made with a test graphic:

“On Friday October 19th during a test of KPHO- CBS 5’s election returns software we inadvertently aired a test graphic for about 15 seconds in an episode of Peoples Court,” Wallace said. “The mistake was caught quickly and taken off the screen. With the election about 2 weeks away, the TV station routinely tests its equipment to ensure our viewers have the very latest’s results on election night. We regret the error and apologize to any viewer who was confused by the mistake.”

What exactly is fishy?? Its not the first time something like this has happened, and guess what the results never matched. Conspiracy nuts are just that....
