Humans produce 15 terawatts of power every year. A hurricane produces 200 times that everyday it remains above a catagory 1.
We don't know what kind of technology the government has to achieve that. More than likely H.A.A.R.P. could have been used to steer the storm, not necessarily create it. If you look at the path of the storm, its very odd.
Isn't it interesting that a simulated Hurricane drill back in 1997 showed a hurricane that took the same exact path and not only that, the simulated hurricane was called "Sandy".
For those of you into conspiracy theories, there is a secret government program called H.A.A.R.P. Supposedly the government can trigger earthquakes, create and affect the direction of storm systems. Before you say this is hog wash, scientists in the middle east used technology to make it rain in the desert.
This freak storm is unusual, particularly in late October. It seems to be a coincidence this storm has approached the east coast seaboard this close to the election. The storm will likely cause flooding, some wind damage and power outages. The question is will power be restored before the election? That depends on the damage. But already the storm is affecting early voting. There are ways this storm can benefit Romney but there are also ways this storm can benefit Obama. How the president handles this disaster could help tip some of the undecideds his way. But many are already blaming H.A.A.R.P. The U.S. government openly says they are experimenting with weather modification but how much the government is actually able to do is still top secret.
HAARP runs on over 100 million Gigawatt array in Alaska. it works by aiming a high power ultra high frequency at a specific sector of the upper ionosphere, which causes it to heat up significantly. as we know hot air rises, and there in creating a low pressure area below it. if this is done is done near a major storm it could theoretically cause said storm to move into that low pressure zone, thus "steering" a storm.
whether or not HAARP can actually create a major storm like that, I do not know.
