The media was full of stories about long lines at the polls. The impression they gave is if you wanted to vote you would have to wait at least 2 hours but more likely 3-4 hours. I think that was meant to hype up voting but also to discourage people from even bothering.
I was not strong on any of the candidates so wasn't even going to bother but my wife insisted we vote. I got to our polling station at about 6PM expecting the terrible long lines the media was promising and found the complete opposite. There were tons of bored poll workers but only two people waiting in line.
Looking back four years ago we experienced the same media hype and short lines.
