Sounds like the GOP is doubling down now.

As pathetic as it was for Gore to lose Tennessee?

That's par for the course. Right wing republicans don't even like the people they vote into office. They just don't like the other guy more.

GOP should have gone Christie / Rubio.
I agree.

The GOP, in its current form, is a worthless, backwards, bigoted political organization that is a cancer on this society and the world. The enlightened people who voted for President Obama and the rest of the free world would breathe a sigh of relief if that pathetic party and the people who support it, would simply disappear. Romney/Ryan was a fitting symbol for the shameful, regressive mindset that the party has come to represent. I enjoyed watching their own homes states tell them to go to hell.

This. Too bad I can't rep you for this post, this is right on the money.

You want to know what makes Romney's loss even more pathetic? Not only did he lose in NH, he did not even carry the district where he has his second home. And we re-elected a Democrat for governor. And gave Republican Charlie Bass the BOOT in favor of a Democrat.

Time for the GOP to wake up and smell the coffee?

It wasn't an issue of being liberal. It was strictly an issue with the economy. Most voters can't identify with two ultra rich candidates who's primarily concerned is the agenda of the rich. Just like John Boehner.

Combined, I think they lost 5 or 6 home States, Romney 4 and Ryan 2. Quite a record.

You're right--they're both poor choices, but it goes deeper than that. It's a problem with the party. The base won't nominate someone who isn't far right, but Americans won't elect someone like that in a general. I don't know a republican who could win under those circumstances, and it won't change until the base stops the purity test garbage.

I expected Romney to lose blue Ma, but what is pathetic is Scott Brown got about a quarter of a million more votes than MR.

First time in forty years the top and bottom of a major-party ticket have both lost their home states...
