I know that. But it is a large metro area. A little like Las Vegas/Henderson/North Las Vegas, or Houston and all of its various suburbs, Humble, Katy, even the Woodlands.

1. California
2. New York
3. New Jersey
4. Illinois
5. Pennsylvania
6. Michigan
7. Ohio
8. Virginia
9. Florida
10. North Carolina

Accurate assessment? You tell me.
1. New York
2. New Jersey
3. Illinois
4. Cali
5. Penn
6. Michigan
7. Ohio
8. Virginia
9. NC
10. Florida
11. Texas
12. Georgia

I don't think Cali is as liberal as several states...there's a strong Conservative movement in Cali as well as Liberal groups.

California State is 40 Million Plus with the so called illegals added in , and the vast majority are liberals , however in the Central Valley you find your conservatives which are a rather large block of people because you can be a Minority and still be 10 or 15 Million strong here in CALIFORNIA.

Sorry but I would put Florida over NC. As for Texas and Georgia being "liberal"?

The order by population is:

California,
Texas,
Florida
New York,
Illinois

You had NY before FL.

I live in Michigan and I can't believe they range my state as the 5th most liberal state. I know very few Democrats!

LOL! Sorry, the math doesn't work on that absurd statement. Texas might become a swing state some day, but a blue state? Not in the lifetime of anyone reading this post.

Carter's share of the Texas vote in 1980: 41.42%
Obama's share of the Texas vote in 2012: 41.38%

I know this is an old thread but interesting to see how Ohio tilted to be conservative but North Carolina less so.

Parts of SJ are less liberal but it is all one state in the end following the same state laws.

I visited Chicago recently.

Stores were offering plastic bags in Chicago. I’d say NJ under Murphy and the pandemic where NJ followed NYC makes NJ more liberal than IL.
