I just heard on Morningjoe, Frank say he told the Gov he would be happy to fill in and very possibly run in the Special Election.

Barney Frank may be able to cobble together a few gay bath houses for a district and win a house seat, but he will never win a state wide race.

The field is
Democrats
MA-5 Rep. ED Markey
MA-8 Rep. Steven Lynch

Republicans
State Senator. Dan Winslow
Attorney Michael Sullivan
Former SEAL Gabriel Gomez
SO Republicans have a big task ahead if they want a shot, because none of these people are known state wide. but at least a competitive primary will get their message out.
Democrats have the clear advantage because
1) Its Massachusetts
2) the Republican brand is poison more so than 2010
3) The Candidates are much more known on the Democratic side.
