Clinton, Obama, Guilani, Romney. I have nightmares about any one of the four taking the office of presidency.

Couldn't agree more. I think the days where the battle for the nominee was fought on the convention floor were better than the song and dance they do through the primaries. Why not have only a certain number of delegates up for grabs from either party through the primaries and the rest battled during the conventions? That way the winner wouldn't get the nomination until the convention. Makes for a more exciting and "fair" process.

Then people need to quit being sheeple and vote for the candidate that the MSM doesn't spew out at us.

People need to actually grow some gonads and a brain cell and vote for the candidate that stands as close the issues as they believe.

Hence my vote goes for Ron Paul.

I completely agree and am just amazed at how poor the selection is. None of the front-runner candidates remotely represent my interests. The issues they spend the most time debating are unimportant compared to others, none of them seem to be patriots who care about the US middle-class, and lastly they seem unconcerned regarding the future of the US in globalized economic affairs.

Ron Paul is the only one who seems remotely on target right now with his concerns regarding constitutional liberties. I appreciate how he extends the fundamental concept of upholding the constitution to address most political issues both local and global. When he speaks he is also obviously unscripted and genuine and quite frankly he appears to have the highest IQ of those he has debated against. I do want the next president to be intelligent and articulate so we can experience a nice change in pace and thus far he has demonstrated those qualities in spades. I just hope people get word out about him beyond forums like this - people need to share knowledge of him to their friends and families and those they interact with because it is fairly obvious that the media isn't helping raise his profile at all.

I will only vote for Paul(R), kucinich(D), or gravel(D). All the rest are the same thing! These three candidates are the ONLY ones who support immediate withdrawl from Iraq. That will be the #1 issue for me. I will only vote for people who support immediate withdrawl. To think that some of these clowns support military action against Iran!!!! What did Iran have to do with 9/11 anyways???????

Before I noticed the comma I saw Hunter Thompson, I was thinking if he wasn't dead I'd agree.

This is what you get when people think of single issues as being important...Not thinking that perhaps, as reasonable people, many good people do change when they are put in a role of responsibility...

Even in this thread I see someone taking a position, and stating an opinion, on one single issue (the Iraq war), while there are thousands of other issues in this country...

So, it's not what someone may say about any particular issue at a given time (even during an election) - What is more important is how they act (overall) in times of crisis and decision making...Their track record...Their experience and ability to reason things out...

People do change...And, very often act responsibly when they realize that they are in a position in which they have the destinies of others in their hands...

The political process in this country attracts the wrong people...Career politicians. Whereas, we have some incredibly talented and capable people that avoid "dirtying their hands" with it, as they are people of integrity...

While I write this, I think of someone like Colin Powell...A fine man, with a lot of integrity..Enough integrrity to honor his wife's observance about the importance of their own dignity, and how it would be sacrificed if he put his hat into the political arena...
