I heard the tough talk from both sides during the elections. It seemed like most Romney supporters were pretty sure their guy would win, but did any of you have a gut feeling that Obama would win in the end?

Personally, though I couldn't believe it, yes, I was afraid Obama would win. It is hard to beat an inncombent.

Even if they did, you don't say it out loud. You also have to remember that Romney's campaign was looking at polls, which they trusted, that showed him trending up and winning a close election. Those polls were wrong but they were the ones being used

The level of political naivete, at all levels, on this supposed "Politics" forum never ceases to amaze me.

I expected 0bama to win because Rs weren't motivated. They tried very hard to band together toward the end, but failed against the gang-mentality Chicago machine. 0bama has turned democrats into racist bullies.

Unfortunately, most 0bama voters don't know a purple star from a purple heart, and their votes are for all the wrong reasons. It's their America, too, and at my age, I'm laughing AT them, not WITH them. When I see the depths of their particular kind of stupid, I just shake my head and thank God I was an American at the right time. I feel great pity for today's youngsters. They are completely unaware of the troubles coming if America stays on this path.

Bull.

Reagan did it. Clinton did it.

That's just in the last 30 years or so.

You backed a poor candidate.

Period.

Obama was vulnerable and you nominated a weak challenger.

Sorry, but that is the truth. Just admit your failure, regroup, and you might have a shot in 2016.

There is no shame in that.

The Democrats ran a weak candidate in 2004 against a vulnerable incumbent (note the proper spelling) and regrouped. They went on to beat the $hit out of the GOP in 2008 and 2012.

My sister in law is a staunch conservative. She admitted to me that not only did she think Romney had zero chance, neither did any of her friends.

And they all acted as if this were not the case.

Gang mentality lol How about an extremely well organized grassroots effort which Republicans know nothing about. Republicans and their super pacs think that their scare tactic ads work. And no their votes for Obama were not for the wrong reasons. If Republicans would lay off the social issues they could very well win. But the Republican party is broken with the conservatives and moderates at odds. The party is the problem....not the voters.

I knew Obama was going to win, because the Republican Party picked the one person on earth that could lose to him. No sane candidate will ever get to run: lunatic liberals have taken over and elections are simply staged shows to give the illusion of choice.
