Right, the kind that existed in the 60's and is rare as the Do-Do bird today.

Is there one candidate who is sane, moderate, and rational?

The 2012 GOP lineup was a shop of horrors, or a farce, whichever you prefer.

I mean someone who believes in limits to military spending, who has not signed any stupid tax pledges, believes in and supports science, does not spew supply-side propaganda, cares about the environment, and can actually work with people of differing views, and has the ballz to stand up to the wackaloon, dittohead fringe in their party?

Please provides some examples, and give their chances.
Just reading your staemnts in your question your clearly of the democratic left not even the centralist that Clinton represented as president > you ned to remmebr that Clinton compromised on a budget deal with gingrich to balance. Christie is actually pretty good. A loose cannon, perhaps, but he seems honest.
I have seen this movie before. The media will cheer him on during the primary season. They will then turn on Christie when he's up against a Dem.

Rand Paul and Rubio are the only two acceptable high profile candidates the GOP has at this point. Anyone libs dont consider a kook happens to be a Democrat who has an (R) in front of their name.

Martin O'Malley should run as a Republican.

Heck they could run Ralph Nador and if the left saw the R in his name they would think he was a right wing nut.

Romney wasn't right wing, though he was a little nutty, same for McCain, not right wing at all, but a little nutty as well.

Not at all. Romney was not a nut, just a charmless phony. He was both the best choice I saw (after Huntsman), and a poor candidate. You can blame the Dems. and lose, or you can find a good candidate and win.

I've been on the other side of this. Both Gore and Kerry should have beaten W soundly, but they both were lacking in charisma.

These are all specious arguments.

Who, for example, doesn't support science? What you mean by that is, one who is Christian, do you not? Christians support science as much as anyone else. But does that mean that we have to accept what you believe to be true; i.e., evolution theory? So, what you are saying is that anyone who won't accept evolution as true, rejects all science. Period. That is a fraudulant and hollow argument.

The madness of Keynesian economics has become painfully evident in the current state of our economy. It hasn't worked, doesn't work, and never will work. The only sane economic system is free market economics, based on supply and demand. It is what has made America the wealthiest, most prosperous nation in the word, with the highest standard of living. The damage to our economy caused by Keynesian's will be with us for years to come, if we continue down this insane path, which does not produce the promised results, but only places us deeper in debt, and enslaves all Americans. We have mortgaged our childrens future, when we should be practicing sound economics that guarantees their future freedom and prosperity. As the Constitution says, "[T]o ... secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity..."

Republicans care about the environment as much as anyone else does. We all love clean air and water, clean and beutiful parks that may be enjoyed by future generation, etc., etc. No one is against such things. The demagoguery of leftists, seeking political power to promote their radical agenda is shamefull and disingenuous. They use lies and propaganda to intimidate and bully anyone who doesn't agree with their false premises.

Radical [insane] environmentalism as promoted by the leftists has resulted in unnecessarily high energy costs through the demonization of fossil fuels, the haulting of the construction of new nuclear power plants, and the shuttering of coal plants. This has driven up costs of everthing from gasoline and oil, to electricity, to food prices (the ethanol scam drives up the cost of corn to feed livestock, and higher fuel prices mean higher transportation costs).

Our future is being held hostage to dependency on foreign sources of energy, when we have plentiful energy resources on our own soil. The radical environmentalists are the chief reason why the Keystone XL Pipline is not moving forward, and many lands are off limits to oil and gas drilling.

We all want to "get along." However this does not mean that we should not have robust debate. Not all proposed legislation is good, and our system was designed to prevent bad legislation that does not meet Constitutional muster, and to ensure maximum Liberty. The so-called "Affortable Care Act" is an example of bad legislation that was forced through with no debate (no one had even read the bill), it does not meet Constitutional muster on many levels, and is probably the worst piece of legislation in American History.

Republicans are always accused of obstruction. It's a lie. That is the game that the left plays. Not all things are good for America, or for Americans, and much of the Democrat agenda of the last several years (if not longer) has been notably bad (the AFA being one). It is not simply a matter of "differing views." These things should be opposed vigorously.

Finally, given that polls consistantly show that the majority of Americans identify themselves as anywhere from moderately conservative to very conservative, Rush Limbaugh, the "Tea Party" (they are people with differing views, not "teabaggers"), and other conservatives are not "fringe." They are mainstream Americans who go to work every day and are raising families and trying to make a better life for themselves just as anyone else is trying to do. And they have as much right to stand up for what they believe in as any on the left. Standing up for Constitutional principles, justice, and the rule of law does not make one "fringe."

We have come to a place in America where the thing that has kept us free for generations, The Constitution, is being disrespected, marginalized and ignored. It seems as though it is only the Republican Party conservatives that recognize the danger if we continue down this path.
