Ex-Miss America Erika Harold begins Congress campaign

As Pres. Obama might put it, she's easy on the eyes. She's a 33 yr old lawyer who used her miss America earnings to pay for Harvard law school. Nice picture of her on her campaign website with the caption: "defending the vision of our forefathers."

Agreed. She's prettier than the average politician, no doubt, but she isn't what I expected from an ex-miss America.

Well I am sure some of the recent Miss America's would take offense at your comment. Miss American is more than a beauty contest now. Yes, 20 years ago, maybe that is all it was, but now it is a combination of beauty, brains, and finding young woman who stand for a cause, for starters. There women take pride in their accomplishments, they do not think of themselves as nothing more than pretty women with nice bodies.

Isn't it wonderful, she was able to use the money she won to continue her education..!!

While Erika is a great person and has a great platform, she has little chance of making it past the primaries. If by the slim margin she does, I will support her and will more then likely work on her campaign.

Good for her. I think she is good looking and articulate. Not eye popping, but maybe she actually has some talent.

As a potential Republican, I have to ask serve whom?
.
Most of the party serves the Koch Bros. and Daddy Norquist very well. Their fellow citizens? Not so much.

Hopefully she aspires to be a real public servant, not a corporate prostitute.
