Witness the impending ascension of Cory Booker in the political arena. The newest-to-be New Jersey senator, then my prediction is he will be the Democratic nominee for POTUS in 2016. And I'll bet he will be our next president. Would that not torque the GOP?
Cory Booker is an absolute genius at promoting Cory Booker. He has over a million Twitter followers and the MSM loves him. But what's he done for Newark? Again, he's great at pushing his own brand in our media-centric country, but when it comes to governing he's an empty suit.

And Democrats will lap it up.
This may very well be true about Booker, from what I have seen of him he has had a good strong image, but I haven't really paid much attention with the work he is doing in Newark. At this point he is just a mayor, and has a long way to go if he ever wants to be a president.
If he actually fixed the problems of Newark and made the city into a thriving big city in New Jersey, then it might be a different story.
In the current 'dancing with the stars' style voting, the uninformed remain the uninformed and vote as if they voted for the 'funniest home video' or 'dancing with the stars" ......
Booker is a nice guy with no demonstatable talent in a city that has a more than a murder a month since the late 60s. Booker will win because he is a 'personality', and NJ will lose because Dem voters wish to keep NJ a feeding trough for pols and their supporters.
That 100 mill donated to the schools...well 20 k went to a survey and another 20 or so went to consultants to interpret the findings of the first survey......great start!!!!!
Newark came in 7th in the latest poll of most violent cities.
If Booker did more than appear on late night comedy and save two people from fire he might be a qualified candidate. If he didn't take back his criticism of Obama it would be siomething people could hang their hat on and the beginning of an independant, motivated career. But alas!
The dem machinery is far larger and complex for a single candidate to make a difference.
Menendez and his support of Holder because 'he will be the 1st AA USAG and will bring respect and confidence to the DOJ that was lost under GWB". Lautenberg is expected to have a 2nd reincarnation.
Gerrymander the district and Booker will have a career he can retire from.
in what fantasy world does someone think Booker for POTUS in 2016...that proves the country is doomed because of gross ignorance and prejudice.

I fail to see how a conjecture of a Booker presidential run could be construed as ignorant or prejudiced. In 2007 Obama came from nowhere and sailed into the White House, despite his relative lack of name recognition, the color of his skin and with Muslim roots and a name to go with it. Then, he did it again in 2012. IMHO he has done wonders with the economy, improved foreign relations, and the list goes on. All this despite total obstructionism from the right.
Booker already has more name recognition than Obama did, is an engaging, ambitious and capable politician. The only ignorance or prejudice I am able to spot is your apparent unwillingness to think outside of the box.
