Oh, I think he shooting for something higher, but I agree, not now. Even with a year at a senator it isn't likely he would be ready for a serious run for President.
He would have a pretty similar resume to Pres. Obama. Obama was elected to the US Senate in 2004, so he had 4 yrs in the US Senate before becoming prez, whereas Booker would have 3. Before the US Senate, both had about 8-9 yrs. in state/local politics. Booker has the advantage of exec experience as mayor, which Obama never had. Obama has a Harvard JD, Booker has a Yale JD.
Corey Booker is a charismatic good looking guy who's popular in his home state. Very well spoken, too, and can deliver a hot red meat speech at the drop of a hat.
I like him just fine, but he ain't gonna be ready by 2016, and I think he's intelligent enough to know it. Let's see what he's got in 2020, though.
That he's tied into Wall St. money (by dint of being a north Jersey politician) is his biggest selling point and why whenever he makes a run he'll likely get the nomination.

The executive background should really help, but I am thinking, after what we have now, people might be a little gun shy (especially a Dem) electing someone with a similar background to Obama, so soon, after Obama. Of course that is just my thinking, certainly doesn't make it fact.
