Sorry. I kinda like Huck.

I'd like to see a Yeledaf/Huckabee ticket.

Does anyone have an explanation of why the conservative Christians have not rallied around Huckabee instead of supporting people like Rudy and talking of 3rd party candidates? This has had me scratching my head for months and I'd love to have a sensible answer to this.

I can't speak for others but the conservative christians I know are rallying around Huck!

However there are those that don't feel he can win so they are willing to compromise. They feel that Rudy is the only one that could possibly beat Hillary or whomever, and that Rudy is a much better choice than the dem candidate.

Well, what else does the guy have to offer, really. Might as well just play his Evangelical card hard and see what happens. Next he'll be proposing another Constitutional Amendment to ban gays.

Meaning his first constitutional amendment to ban abortions...his next constitutional amendment to ban gays.

No ban on gays yet...much to the chagrine of some of our conservative brethren that are opposed to this "lifestyle choice".

I would agree, abortion is a red meat issue for both sides this is just Huckabees counter to Robertson endorsing guliani, while I am staunchly prolife I dont need to hear about the abortion issue I would rather just be convinced that the candidate would appoint strict judges.

The fact that he FAVORS a ban on abortion doesn't mean he or anyone President would get it. What we're overlooking is that he comes out and says he's totally against abortion and would go so far as to abolish it. He doesn't separate his faith from his decisions. How honest is that? Refreshingly honest! Won't win him the White House, but at least he's got morals and not afraid to speak them.

Sure he can afford to say what he thinks, knowing he has no chance to win anyway. As mentioned, this initiative is a non starter from the get go, but it at least gets his name mentioned in the papers for a few days.

Whatever it takes.
