I know Oprah and George Clooney are both back Obama -- but does anyone REALLY BELIEVE that celebrities pick the Democratic candidates?

I *like* Obama but I think he is a lightweight compared to Hillary Clinton. He doesn't have her experience and I think he would get trampled in the general election. If he can't shine against Hillary, he has no chance at all of shining against the Republicans.

George Clooney? It amazes me that for the sole reason a hollywood personality endorses someone that so many people in the U.S will follow in lock step.

And Oprah? Opium for the massess. For the middle aged housewife that needs someone to direct them and tell them what they should think.

Frightening.

On Obama, I will never ever vote for someone that refuses to say the pledge of alegeince. He refuses to say whether he will support America, and he has the most raciest pastor in America that he looks up to. He speakes of white america as a place with problems that need legislation to correct while completely ignoring the problems in black America. There has not been this much of a racist run for president since Wallace of Alabama.

it is pretty irrelevant because obama is not going to be the nominee for the democratic party, especially after his dismal debate performance and his stance in favor of driving licenses for illegal immigrants.

Someone has been reading too many rightwing emails. The man you just described is not Barak Obama. It's a figment of your imagination.

Well stated on all counts.

And no, I don't believe celebrities pick candidates.

Obama's pastor is not a racist (I think you refer to the guy who retired, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who was not a racist, either. I have been to the church and know the family.). Obama has never refused to say the pledge of allegiance. Obama has not run a racist campaign or one centered on racial issues.

I think you should direct yourself to the issues in the campaign.

I just haven't gotten excited over Obama. I think he's naive as well. He says he wants to leave Iraq within 16 months, but how does he suppose he'll do that? I don't think he understands that Republicans will ALWAYS obstruct, and that's it will never be as simple as just saying, "bring em home now." They're not going away, diminished in status as they may be.

Hillary on the other hand knows the process. She's been through the fire and has learned valuable lessons with healthcare in the early 90s. I suspect hers will be more of a brokered approach to many issues, and that it will mean results immediately, rather than waiting for naive and underqualified candidates to hit their "learning curve" in the federal executive.

Can you provide PROOF to support the above claims
