Just wondering
Obama is definitely to the left of Clinton, but they are both fairly close to the center. You can always compare to Kucinich

Clinton:
- Supports capital punishment
- Supports Patriot Act
- Supports border fence
- Military an option for Iran
- Opposes same-sex marriage
- Used to support Iraq war

Obama:
- Supports Patriot Act
- Supports border fence
- Opposes same-sex marriage

Do you mean in the Democratic primary or in the general election if she would be the nominee? If it's in the general election, I'm certain more women will vote for Hillary than any Republican candidate.

I vote for a party, rather then an individual, whoever is elected will stay close to what the party dictates.
And how is either Ellen DeGeneres or Oprah Winfrey or Chuck Norris relevant to what's good for this country? How are they any different from those dimwits Michael Moore, Sean Penn or George Clooney giving their seal of approval. Who cares what those people think? You're talking about daytime hostesses. What in God's name would they have experience in to testify on someone's behalf and be credible? Because they're nice ladies? Because Chuck Norris can kick your butt, does that make him profound when it comes to National Security? Because Oprah is generous or has a book club? Which one - Oprah, Ellen or Chuck is the expert on Foreign Policy? Which one - Oprah, Ellen or Chuck is the expert on economics? What a joke!

Not exactly accurate.
  • Hillary has never voted, either way, on capital punishment.
  • Hillary voted for the USAPATRIOT Act in 2001, voted against it in 2005, then voted for it again in 2006.
  • Hillary voted for giving amnesty to illegal immigrants in 2006, voted against visa background checks, and voted against denying legal status for immigrants convicted of certain crimes (such as convicted terrorists and murders).
  • Hillary voted against the proposed Same Sex Marriage Amendment which would have prohibited same sex marriages.
  • Hillary did vote to send US troops into Iraq, but since has only voted for funding those US troops if the appropriation contained specific withdrawl date timelines.
Hillary also voted...
  • against the Partial-Birth Abortion bill.
  • for federal funding of stem cell research.
  • for the MediCare Prescription Drug amendment.
  • for granting permanent residence for certain illegal immigrants.
  • for increasing taxes on crude oil.
  • against the Job and Economic Growth bill.
  • for an increase in the minimum wage.
  • for increasing education spending.
  • against confirming Samuel Alto as Associate Justice.
  • against confirming John Roberts as Chief Justice.
  • for a congressional pay increase.
  • against prohibiting the confiscation of a firearm during an emergency or major disaster.
  • for State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP)
  • for establishing a grant program to provide financial assistance to States and local governments for the costs of providing health care and educational services to illegal aliens
  • against declaring English as the national language
As for Barack's voting record...
  • Like Hillary, Barack has not voted either way on capital punishment.
  • Barack voted against it in 2005, then voted for it in 2006 (Barack become a Senator in 2004, so he was not there to vote on the initial bill in 2001).
  • Barack voted for giving amnesty to illegal immigrants in 2006, voted against visa background checks, and voted against denying legal status for immigrants convicted of certain crimes (such as convicted terrorists and murders).
  • Barack voted against the proposed Same Sex Marriage Amendment which would have prohibited same sex marriages.
  • Barack was not a Senator at the time the vote to send US troops to Iraq was taken. Barack has only voted for funding those US troops if the appropriation contained specific withdrawl date timelines.
Barack also voted...
  • for federal funding of stem cell research.
  • for the MediCare Prescription Drug amendment.
  • for granting permanent residence for certain illegal immigrants.

  • for establishing a grant program to provide financial assistance to States and local governments for the costs of providing health care and educational services to illegal aliens
  • against declaring English as the national language
Keep in mind that Barack Obama has only been a Senator for 3 years, while Hillary Clinton has been a Senator for 7 years. Both Hillary and Barack could be identical twins if their voting record were the only thing taken into account.

Yeah, I'd much rather vote for a man who thumbs his nose at the sick and the suffering and says we shouldn't use cells slated for destruction to possibly cure that sickness and end the suffering. I'd much rather vote for a man who gets us involved in a war of choice at great cost of blood and $$$ with unlikely benefit to the US. Oh, wait, he can't run, I guess I'll have to consider what Obama has to say.

Me too. And not in spite of those positions. Because of several of them. (Among other reasons, obviously.)
