Of course I believe that God created the earth. The book of Genesis is quite clear on the issue.

Back to the previous post, the same argument can be made in the Democatic party back in the 60's when they became extremely radical. Their base turned away from the christian democrats at the time. The majority of the WWII generation was christian but voted democrat. Almost everyone in my family over 70 has always voted democratic. Since the democratic party became more radical, many christians began to embrace the republican side for those reasons.

Do you think that there are democrats who follow God?

yes there are, but they are less hawkish about it, they probably care more about what goes on in this life then what goes on in the next

More Democrats that believe in god are more open to people who dont believe, where as Republicans would love to make this a completly Christian country

Not true. Democrats who truly love God have the same desire for this nation's history as Republicans who love God..

Exactly! And that is the point that our friend seemingly refuses to accept.

There are MANY Democrats who support Christian / Religious values including opposing things like assisted suicide and abortions

I would suggest that you perhaps need to be a lot more careful in your postings - your post said that only republicans follow God - clearly wrong.

You tend to make very blanket and absolute statements that are unfounded

I aint gonna argue, but all we have to do is look at the 2000 and 2004 elections, who do you think the hardcore Christians clung to more

And nowadays when these Christians "leaders" support a candidate, do they ever even consider anyone on the Democrat side?

I will give nothing a little credit here.. True, there are some christians who claim to be republican who are outspoken in the national media and unfortunately have put christianity in a negative light, but again where is your proof that democrats are "easier" on this life than republicans?
