Change a few names and this thread would fit well in 1952.

The best answer (after an thorough investigation) to this thread could be provided by Senator Joe McCarthy, but, unfortunately, he's dead.

But the year is 2007, not 1969. And communism fell nearly two decades ago.

The least communist??? I'm not even sure what that means, since none of the candidates running in the two major parties are communists.

If by "communist" you mean anyone to the left of Michael Savage, then pretty much 99% of Americans are communists.

communism is the new republican word for socialism, even though socialism is a million times better then capitalism and communism, it is easier for the republicans to belittle socialist leaning candidates by calling them communists

Cuba I'm sure would disagree with you along with Iran, China, and lots of the middle east.

Thanks for not hiding your true un-american thoughts, I was seriously confused for a little with all your pro american ideas and non stop facts about how bad those Republicans are..

As for your Communism and republican statment. Sorry to interject the definition of the word "communism" but tell me what part of the government taking over and running businesses of private enterprises is not communism?

Communism
  1. A system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy and a single, often authoritarian party holds power, claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people.
  2. The Marxist-Leninist version of Communist doctrine that advocates the overthrow of capitalism by the revolution of the proletariat.

Agree, agree and agree. Although I'm not so sure about Richardson, maybe because I don't know much about him.

To the OP:

Communist identity is not a gradation nor a matter of degree. You are either a professed Communist (that is, member of a national Communist Party), or you aren't.

Since none of the candidates for president in 2008 is a member of the Communist Party of the United States, your question is moot.
