Obama demonstrated to me that his ambition exceeds his principles, when he associated himself with the homophobic rant of a popular gospel singer inorder to broaden his appeal the the black community in South Carolina. The way he handled that whole affair spoke volumes about his inability to bring about any real change. He "goes along to get along"--we need more than that from a man who would be President.

Why (asking honestly)? You think we as a country are just not ready for a man of color to be President? Would Colin Powell have had a chance?

read up on Prescott Bush, and his dealing with Nazi's and look up him wanting ot overthrow FDR. Google those terms or wiki them. I don't want to put you onto one source and be biased. With the stuff I just said you should be able to find plenty.

Can you name any current politician running for president who demonstrates his/her principles exceed his/her ambition?

People said the same thing about Governor Douglas Wilder. They said the same about Governor Deval Patrick. About Governor Gary Locke. Heck, people said the same thing about President Bill Clinton.

I'm so sick and tired of people bringing up the experience factor! Hilary has been in the Senate since 2000, Obama since 2004. Her eight years versus his four. That's not a huge difference, people. It's not like Hilary is a Robert Byrd or Ted Kennedy. Compared to most Senators, she's a "junior" senator herself. Not only that, but at least Obama had political experience before he was elected to the U.S. Senate (he served as an Illinois state legislator based out of Chicago). What was Hilary doing before she bought that house in Chappaqua, NY so she could be a senator? She was the First Lady. The President's wife. She held no political office or job at all, actually. Before her husband Bill was in the White House, she was an attorney. Just like Obama. In terms of qualifications, I'd say they're pretty damn even, or if anything, it's Obama who has a slight edge.

And besides that, as others have pointed out, JFK had very little experience in the Senate when he was elected in 1960, and you know Obama does have some very JFK-like qualities. I wish people would shut up about how much more experienced Hilary is than Obama. No offense to you skatealoneskatetogether, it's just that I hear this so much, and it's absolute bullsh*t, it really is.

Although I've got the Hillary sign on my lawn, I wouldn't mind a bit if Obama gets it. Either, IMHO, would do great things for this country.
