Is not good. We are small business owners and earn 6 figures a year. I remember living in Boca Raton Fla 8 years ago, ( West Boca ) in a 2400 sq ft house on 1/3 acre with a pool and my total nut was under $3500.00/month

We now live in a smaller house on the West Coast of Fla, make MORE than we did then, and it costs us 6 grand a month for essentially the same things that were part of our nut then. Yesterday we saw tomatoes at Publix IMPORTED from Mexico, or grown hydrponically in Canada ( but none from here , eh ? ) for 3 bucks a pound. Are you kidding me already?

Here's what Dr Paul says about the state of our money

Did you also see that more than 450 F-15 Fighter planes have been grounded?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071226/ap_on_re_us/grounded_f15s (broken link)

So for all the money these bastards steal from us, they have even let

national defense fall to nothing? We're essentially here with our
pants pulled down to out ankles ? While they spend spend spend more and
more overseas? Are they thinking of outsourcing our national defense to the Chinese?
GRRR.

the more that i read about him, the more that i think that ron paul deserves our vote. he's absolutely right when he talks about "hidden" inflation. how many times do you go to eat out, purchase a service and find out that the price has increased at least 10% or so? the cost of gasoline is an obvious one. yet, the gov't fails to take all of those increasing costs into account when they are making up the CDI. yet, we know that costs areincreasing every day, while our interest on savings accounts decreases while we are trying to beat the cost of inflation, but losing.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) computation is pretty extensive, don't think they exclude much in calculating the updates:

Me and my wife have noticed almost every single restaraunt we go to regularly has increased the price range of appetizers from the $3-$7 range to the $6-$11 range. Entrees have gone up AT LEAST 10-15% most places. This puts the price for us going out to eat at nearly a 30% increase since we met 3 years ago. Its truly sad.

Also, gas prices are going to surely hit record levels in 2008. We are going to start 2008 with the national average for gas around 50-60 cents higher per gallon in January than it was in Jan 2007. Get ready to see $4 per gallon around much of the country. Ethanol is a joke of a solution.

Our economy is not doing well, and most of the people in DC are doing nothing to help.

thanks for the info, cali. if they DO take into account so many things, why does their meager increase not match the increases that we see in daily expenses?
