Cruz is a great politician, but his routine only plays well to a niche within the GOP. I think his quiet exploratory phase and first to jump in was a good move. HE won't win the nomination, but he we will have a following and delegates to use as bargaining chips at the convention.
Given the above, my assumption is that he jumped in early while the media is hungry for election news,
and he will be out early. His only goal was to make a national name for himself which will help with
future book royalties and speaking fees. Too bad he couldn't at least be honest about it.
I think you are right about this.
I don't think he'll even win the nomination, let alone the presidency.
It would not pay for freebies or make men pay for GYN care or women pay for prostate exams, etc., that they do not need and that run the cost of Insurance up.
I don't care about the rest of your post, but this statement is just plain silly.
I've had umpteen group health policies over the years, and *every single one* of them forced the men to pay for gyn services they didn't need, and me to pay for prostate exams (and later, viagra) that I didn't need.
First, he hardly "rambles" since he can give speeches without a teleprompter, and in a National Champion Debater and Runner Up World Champion Debater. Your characterization of him as a "ramble rousing preacher" whatever that is, seems to belie your reliance on MSM for your opinions. If you voted for Obama, I'm surprised you don't love the "preachy" style, since Obama has admitted that he listened over and over to tapes of Rev. Wright, so he could emulate him when giving speeches.
1. He did NOT shut down the government. He fought on behalf of his constituents to defund Obamacare. His filibuster informed many people about the truth of Obamacare. The democrats were the ones who refused to sign the bill funding the government if it failed to fund their Obamacare creation.
2. Can you provide proof to that statement? I have no idea what that means. Are you saying that Cruz has admitted that he is a birther? I mean, Bill Clinton said Obama's story was a fairy tale and questioned his Constitutional eligibility to be president, but I never, ever heard Cruz make that accusation. I look forward to your proof.
3. Did he leave Texas? What does that mean? He leaves Texas all the time to go to DC. Any Presidential candidate is going to leave their state when they campaign. What is the difference between Cruz announcing at Liberty U or Clinton speaking at religious colleges?
4. LU requires students to attend a daily assembly. Cruz made his announcement at the daily assembly. HE did not require or force anyone to attend. That is school policy. You don't think all the little kids that sit around Obama when he gives speeches in grade schools are not required to attend them?
5. Fighting for Obamacare and then following the law, is neither contradictory, nor hypocritical. If a State Senator fights to remove the speed limit on certain roadways, do you think he is hypocritical if he obeys the current law?
I don't think he'll even win the nomination, let alone the presidency.
I question whether that is even his goal.
Every move so far has been aimed at his limited base.
And if he is as smart as his supporters claim, he must realize he can not win with just tea baggers.
He certainly would not be the first person to get in the race solely to increase his speaking fees.
I feel that in 2016 if either party nominated someone from the middle, there could be a lot of crossover voting.
It has been a long time since I voted for anyone other than "the lessor of two evils".
Cruz is just like Ronald Reagan...except people LIKED Reagan.
That's what I say. Ted Cruz is not very likeable. If he is nominated, he will accomplish what Hillary can't, and that's to inspire progressives to actually go vote against him. I hope you early primary voters understand this.
Texas has had a lot of Democratic party politicians in charge, and in the relatively recent past.
The voters apparently were disappointed with the rule of Ann Richards, Lloyd Bentsen, Wendy Davis, Sheila Jackson Lee, etc., and voted them out.
If they start delivering, and pushing through programs Texans can vote for, the state could easily go Democrat again.
Texas has some Democrats, it has yet to be a Democrat majority state. So Rafael Cruz winning in Texas isn't anything to brag about. Winning in Texas as a Republican is a pretty safe bet.

Just because YOU agreed to pay for it doesn't mean you were forced to pay for it. You had a choice to pay for that plan or find another one with different coverage, like a catastrophic plan or one that covered only office visits, etc.

So was winning Illinois for Obama or winning NY for HRC. If that is your only point, it's pretty weak.
