. But Cruz, he kept it to a bumper-sticker: "Defund!" I know that others disagree but I think this episode was totally pathetic and all about the politics, not about governing.
Politics is always a consideration, the people on both sides of the aisle are politicians. Its their trade, their livelihoods.
"Defunding" wasn't the complete plan that Cruz had in mind, of course. The defunding was stage one.
Stage two would have been the Democrats looking for a way to provide an off ramp and a fix to the system that they devised.
Stage two didn't come down, because there was no pressure on them to do anything- the defunding measure failed.
But Cruz's strategy seemed pretty sound. Put the pressure on (with defunding), and force them to come up with a fix pronto. Politicians usually only work under pressure.
You really should read his job history and see who he worked for before running for Senate. He is more of the same old, same old that we expect to see from the GOP.
What makes you think I didn't? And no, he isn't the same ol' same ol'. If he was, he wouldn't have jeopardized his political career filibustering Obamacare. He tried to inform Americans about the lies and true financial risk of that bill, and he was ridiculed. Turns out he was right.

Yeah, this isn't about ACA, this is about what he did before being a Senator. Clearly you haven't looked into it, or you are okay with backing another Washington Insider who will take care of his DC buddies first.

I am aware of his career. What, exactly, do you believe I am missing?
all you do is repeat the same vague thing over and over again.
what does it matter anyways when your just going to run back and vote for the establishment candidate like you did in 12 anyways
You must understand that posting on threads here at C-D is therapy for some people.
Honestly I do not see Cruz being nominated by the GOP to be their candidate in '16. Republican leadership want a candidate who can win huge political campaign donations from the corporate world, and someone who will over many of the "independent" and "moderate" voters. I doubt Cruz can do that.
Nah, it is easy to find though if one actually cares to know what business practices Rafael Cruz did before being a Senator and who he worked for.
Clearly, you have nothing.
