That does help try to steer people.

I guess it all depends on whose sheep are being fleeced.

Drop the religious crap and most of the socially conservative message (except for general support for people getting married before they have children), focus on economic growth and personal freedom, and the Republicans will *probably* win.

I don't consider morality to be "religious crap". Without morals one is just and empty suit. Without morality we cease to be a decent nation.

Out of all the social issues, opposition to illegitimacy would seem to be one least likely to curry favor. 75% of the children in major cities like Washington DC or Cleveland OH are born out of wedlock. Why pick that fight that will alienate so many?

With Clinton, one must factor in that she'll get the highest percent of the female vote in history. If the demographics stay similar to 2012, there's no way in hell the GOP has a chance.

I've said it before, and I've said it again. That party is too white and too old. You need to replace the old whites with young minorities like Booker and Rubio.

How the right can still back guys like Boehner and Mcconnell as figureheads is laughable.

Exactly, it's not black and white because they are situational and not just did God say not to do it anywhere in the bible or specifically in the Ten Commandments.

And yet, one can be moral without being religious. One need have nothing to do with the other, despite the claims of many fundamentalists here.

Very true. In fact, a lot of very immoral people have been associated with evangelical christianity. Not to mention this whole of prosperity gospel is nauseating.

As a millenial the GOP will continue to push away voters unless they abandon ship on social issues. Sure, they'll carry the South, but the South will not give you a win in a presidential race.

The South will have to decide to give up its ways or render the party irrelevant in national elections. My generation is exceedingly non-religious, accepting of gay marriage, anti-bigot, and pro-women with the exception of the staid old ways of the South.
