So anyone who believes in the Constitution is a thinly veiled racist? yes lets throw diversity out the door and go for the one size fits all approach.

Yeah I've tired of debating the ignorance on this thread. "It's hard to free fools from the chains they revere" and all that. This thread was started as a ridiculous troll thread and I'm going to let it die the same way. Trying to offer counter points to the lunacy is met with "nope you're wrong lalalalala, RACIST NEOCONFEDERATE DIXIECRAT!!!!! GOP is EVUL CUZ RAY-CISM! RANDY PAUL IS RAY-CIST!" and then even after their "points" are refuted they just continue to parrot them in an echo chamber that has built around 3 or 4 posters. They don't want a dialogue, they want to push their agenda and live in their bubble world.

Some of the people on this thread are good representations of why America and the west is in decline. They all claim to hate the drug war, the police state, and the warfare state so naturally they'll all vote for Hillary Clinton. After she fails they'll continue to deny reality and blame people who haven't had any real political power in this country about 4 decades. They're completely incapable of looking beyond party designation. They don't know what Rand Paul stands for and they don't care, all they've seen is the (R) behind his name and they have made up their mind. I'm not a Catholic anymore but Catholic Church teaches a doctrine called "invincible ignorance." Leftists have made a believer in that doctrine's correctness.

Well in that states could decide to write racist or sexist laws and it is protected because it's the "states right." It's the whole "I'm against the law but I support the logic behind it," theory. That said, the law itself is colorblind. It's the people who enforce it whether it is a mayor, governor, president, DAs, ADAs and police, that aren't such is the case of the recent religious freedom laws. This is exactly how separate but equal happened. The law said they needed equal protection and people skirted it by allowing negros seating at restaurants but not prime location or seats on the back of the bus if they were available.

I'm sorry that you seem to be unaware that "states rights" has been the go-to argument for racist whites since before the Civil War. There's a REASON Rand Paul was elected in the South after parroting 'states rights'. That's Teabilly code for 'put them blacks in their place'.

It's real easy to be all theoretical about something like 'states rights' when it wasn't your people who were affected. But from now until the end of time, 'states rights' will be a dog-whistle for racism. You know it. I know it. We all know it.

Sometimes I wonder who you guys are trying to convince. Cause ain't nobody outside the Teabilly Echo Chamber buying what you're selling. Looks to me like you're just trying to convince yourself.

By that "logic", every pro-choice proponent is of the moral caliber of Kermit Gosnell.

Not all Republicans are mindlessly pro-life, not all Democrats are mindlessly pro-choice. Many people are in favor of some moderate restrictions on abortion. The occasional fundamentalist says something stupid and insensitive. That doesn't mean all Republicans agree.

The boogeyman isn't coming to steal away women's contraception. You're delusional and paranoid if you think the availability of contraception will be limited if Republicans take office, no matter what you think some fundamentalist idiot "hinted".

There's no overriding objection to contraception being covered by health insurance - the issue is the mandate that all policies sold must cover it. Contrary to the Democrats who act like women are weak wilting flowers, Republicans believe it's up to the woman whether she takes a job with or without insurance, that does or doesn't cover birth control. If her insurance policy doesn't cover it, she's more than capable of handling it herself, the same as a man is capable of buying condoms without being subsidized by the government or health insurance. It's ludicrous to conflate the possibility that women might continue to buy their own birth control, pretty much the way they did for decades prior to the ACA, to women hating.

Do you not see the irony of accusing an entire party of being racist/sexist/hateful/homophobic as you rail against nasty half-baked stereotypes?

But I guess when sowing the seeds of division, hatred, perennial victimhood, and paranoia is all you've got, that's what you do.
He says Jim Crow laws are horrific... yet he's announcing support for legalized discrimination? Making the same legal arguments used to justify Jim Crow laws? Running with the same party that's deliberately disenfranchising blacks, AND who is tearing down the Voting Rights Act every chance they get?

Actions speak louder than words. And even his words sound pretty racist to me.

As for womens' issues... Republicans have no problem with healthcare plans covering Viagra. But birth control- which by the way has LOTS of legitimate medical uses besides preventing pregnancy- well they just can't stomach that. Those christians just can't help themselves when it comes to controlling women. But they're all about 'small government'.

You may not like what I'm saying about the Republican Party, but I've cited clear examples for every bit of it. And really the fact is that it ain't me that you have to convince. You gotta convince millions of Americans who are turning away from the Teabilly worldview every year. As it is ya'll only control the House via gerrymandering. That WILL play out in time, and then only the Senate will be competitive for the Republicans.

But hey... keep hating, keep denying, keep obstructing, keep taking money out of the pockets of working people and redistributing it to billionaires. A clear majority of Americans has caught on to what ya'll are about. And that majority is growing.

The hate and distortion is coming from you, not me. I think that would be clear to any true independent following this discussion.

So keep on spewing your namecalling, stereotyping, and ridiculous paranoid bile. People will see it for what it is.

You got that right. There's a LOT I don't like about Hillary. She's center-right at best, DEFINITELY authoritarian, and corrupt as hell. But the thing is that the Republicans have become so insane, corrupt, and destructive over the past couple decades that I'm even willing to vote for the likes of HER if I think there's a chance she'll slow down that crazy-train.

Paul has cast his lot with hateful sycophants who care about little else besides redistributing every last penny in America to the billionaires. They have shown ZERO interest in solving problems faced by anybody with an income of less than $200k/year. Besides upward wealth redistribution, the ONLY thing they really seem to care about is inventing new reasons for people to die in pointless wars.

So no, if Jesus Christ himself ran as a Republican (they'd never allow that dirty hippy), I wouldn't vote for him. Deliberate association with such people tells me all I really need to know.

Sigh...no wonder America is declining.

Will they?

Demographics show pretty clearly that people are seeing the Republican Party for what it is. It's a shame you can't. But don't worry- the rest of us will do our best to keep your rights intact and keep the billionaires from further looting our great nation.

Maybe your America is in decline... I dunno. But my little slice of America is doing quite well, thanks.

I do think there's truth in your statement though. Rural White America IS in decline. And the hateful rhetoric we see among Teabillies reflects that. Problem is that they're largely siding with the same billionaires and multinationals that have pillaged the Main Street Economy.

All that hate sure is expensive- selling out their childrens' futures to the billionaires just because y'all are scared of them eeeebil blacks and gays and atheists. If it weren't for all the good people Teabillies are dragging down with them, I would say the decline of Rural White America looks a lot like justice.
