Rabid Tea Party types have their head stuck you know where. Democratic insiders have openly stated that Jeb Bush is the only GOP prospect who keeps them awake last night.
Jeb Bush is already wooing Hispanics to the GOP. During his visit to Puerto Rico last week he was enthusiastically greeted by Ricky Rossello - who chaired Hillary Clinton's 2008 campaign on the island. Rossello is the son of former Governor Pedro Rossello who spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 2000, who like his son has also gradually moved away from the Democratic Party in recent years as it has become more and more leftist. Over 500 people were present to see Bush. While they cannot vote due to Puerto Rico's territorial status they do have relatives in Florida, and New York, and Ohio who can vote.

Democrats blocked "immigration reform" back in 2007 when we had a president willing to sign it. Ditto in the 2009-2010 Congress, they didn't even bring up the issue.
Amnesty for illegal aliens isn't nearly as popular as it would seem to be.
The only reason why it passed the Senate now is that senators know it will never make it to a vote in the House so they don't have to worry about it being actually enacted and have to endure the wrath of the voters.
Sort of like the "Employee Fair Choice Act", the Democrats' labor reform proposal. It passed the 07-08 Congress only because they knew that President Bush would veto the thing. In 09-10, when they had a bigger majority, it failed to pass Congress.
Just the name Bush, will sour many and that combined with trying to sell a big government progressive, as a conservative and the past results of that alone.
The nation is looking for the truth. The nation is ripe for Conservative non-intervention, type leadership.

Yes, and when Bush was trying to pass it, it incurred the wrath of the American public. The phones lines to congress were shut down with so many phone calls opposing it.
Mr Bush has a large albatross around his neck. His policies are those of his brother. The current GOP wishes to end SS and Medicare. They are all jumping in line to destroy it. More tax cuts for the 1%, here in NC the tax cut turned into a tax increase for the majority of the state, and has created a larger revenue shortage.
What is lacking is the will not the means. The wealthiest nation in human history can't educate its youth, care for its sick or provide economic security for its elderly? Baloney.
Oh, not this again. Who is advocating to forcibly deport all these illegals....no one! The solution is to remove all of the incentives for them to remain here and to continue to come here such as jobs, benefits and birthright citizenship for their kids. Don't care what they bleed. Americans lawbreakers bleed red, white and blue also but they don't get excused from justice. Allowing illegal alien kids to remain here simply because their lawbreaking parents brought them here is rewarding the parents for doing so. Why should illegals escape deportation simply because they are already here? Who among them has given the ultimate sacrifice for our nation? By doing what?
Our government can't even keep track of visa overstayers but they are going to keep track of millions of illegal aliens to make sure they pay back taxes? They not only should they get to the back of the line for citizenship but legal status also but do it in their own country not here. We need the jobs they are holding so how does allowing them to remain here in legal status fix that problem?
You're right, but your solution is not feasible. This is where Romney's "self-deportation" comes in. Now, it has been said that Romney was just blowing smoke? But, at least he had a workable plan that common sense conservatives could support. Unfortunately, his remarks were negatively portrayed and it never caught traction. Jeb is trying to address the issue in a realistic manner. Of course he come across as weak on enforcement. But, if its not being enforced anyway then it's a moot point!
