The Dems won't talk about Carly because they can't stand the thought of the first female president being a Republican. It interrupts their silly "old white male party" narrative. That is why they attacked Sarah Palin when she ran for VP in 2008. Dems hate GOP women and GOP blacks. The latter are considered to be "Uncle Tom's".
Don't confuse conviction with salesmanship. And certainly don't confuse the ability to delivery with telling you what you want to hear.
I agree that she's able to sell it. However, I also believe she believes what she's saying. I don't get the sense she's saying what people want to hear or else she'd be a heck of a lot more popular and would also be running on the democratic ticket.
She strikes me as a dark horse candidate. I find myself agreeing with everything she says, and she handled Katie Couric's gotcha! questions like a pro. She has all the experience and none of the political baggage as someone who has been in politics all of their life.
If you have a chance, watch her yahoo interview with Katie Couric. Smart woman who is also likable.

The definition of "handled" a gotcha question in this site tends to mean they either ignored the question all together or side stepped it by giving an out of the way answer that does not actually respond to the context of the question.
But the reasons people are ignoring here is because she has about a 1% chance of getting the nomination.

She actually addressed that. I like what she has to say about returning to a citizen run government rather than career politicians.
I like the idea of people making it on their own merit and then becoming a leader in Washington. That way they have a day job to go back to without the need to stay on the easily corruptible government payroll. Politics should have never been a life-long career.
Not exactly, Compaq's main business was network servers, a market they dominated and which is not a commodity business.
This is mostly by memory, but I think that in the mid-to-late 90s, Compaq was very much a desktop PC company as well. A huge part of their troubles came from Dell eating their market share by selling online. (Compaq tried to do the same and had the sh.t sued out of them by their dealer network.) They were increasingly leaning on their server/storage dicvision, agreed.

No disagreement there. Classical case of someone looking at the expectations market (i.e., stock price development) and ignoring the real market (i.e, providing stuff & services that customers want to buy). HP was an old-school company inventing and building really good stuff. People of Fiorina's caliber need to be kept far away from that sort of company, because they cannot resist the temptation to take apart the golden goose to get at all of the eggs at once.
All that being said, HP's C-class server enclosures are rock solid and I will not hear a word said against them. (The P-class, on the other hand, should be dumped in the Marianas trench.)
She is not sleazy and slimy enough like the female candidate from the other party. The media likes to wallow in mud.
